One for the Record Books

YHC apparently forgot why Rush Hour got its name! Waze said 5:43 arrival and it was dead on. Popped out the car and noticed a LOT of people waiting around for a Q. 19 to be exact. It was said that’s a record, not sure the accuracy of that but YHC will take it! Why so many guys!? 1. The weather, bro! It was gorgeous out there! 2. The beers that would soon follow. [Read More]

The Bear and the Lucky7 Fair

A bear there was A bear, a bear All black and brown And covered in hair Two men, a goat And a dancing bear They danced and spun Up to the fair They sweat and shuffled And pure and fair They hiked up their rucks All the way up in the air From there to here From here to there On all fours And covered in hair They swallowed a lot of pollen [Read More]

Laughter, Grunts and Tears

HotCakes either catching his breath or getting distracted by a shinny object. After the beatdown from ThunderstRUCK on Wed, 4 PAX continued the bruising at Rolling Stone 4/5/19 with GoRuck Lucky 7 WOD #3. All this, to score for a sick patch: 1 mile-ish ruck north on Louis Stephens Dr and back-tracked to the soccer fields behind the elementary school. After determining that the ground flags were barely visible in the dark, a few soccer nets got moved around to serve as 25 meter markers. [Read More]

Shakin' & Stirrin'

Warm & beautiful morning in Cary’s Bond Park for Shaken not Stirred – great group of hard workin’ men too! It was my pleasure to lead such a group & I thoroughly enjoyed it! No FNGs, only familiar faces. Started with the pledge & moved out to a close-by parking lot. The group was informed that this is F3 – modify as necessary! We rolled into: The Warm Up Circle up for SSH, good mornings, windmills, cotton pickers, calf-stretch merkins, mountain climbers, etc. [Read More]

F3Prayer24

As I look around at the pax, I realize there are some new faces to me. Introductions were made to Carvana and Skipper, both here to Ruck. Noticeably missing was Fort Mills’ Dirty Hairy who was recently seen blotting out the sun, sporting his newly minted CARPEX™ Hello Kitty officially licensed gear, and was invited to attend N.W. Carpex’s premier High Tempo bootcamp. 🤐 A highly abbreviated disclaimer was shared….man can Hi-Liter talk, why don’t you lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance? [Read More]

Johnny Cash and American Dollies... wait, what?

Being that it is YHC’s birthday, and that birthday is shared with the Man in Black, himself; the late, great Johnny Cash, this was supposed to be a Q to honor the man and his music. Well, it started out that way, but slid off the rails just a bit. One should expect that anytime Frisco is present for a workout, but YHC can’t really pin this one on him. [Read More]

Mathletics

Eleven HIMs gathered in the fairly well lit, narrow parking lot of Annie Jones Park expecting a limited-run boot camp workout. This is, in fact, what was to be delivered to said PAX. First exercise, the Pledge of Allegiance. In a well-disguised foreshadowing of things to come, a high knee/karaoke mosey to the lot next to the tennis courts for… Warm Up SSHs, Good Mornings, Moroccan Night Clubs, Overhead Claps, Plank Jacks & Control Freak Merkins. Virgin No More

Woke up early for my VQ at 4. Anxious to get started I guess. Decided it was too early to get up, and slept until my alarm went off. What’s that I hear? Rain? Great, need to modify already. I planned on doing step ups on the bleachers but did not want to risk the safety of the PAX so had to come up with an alternate. More on that later. [Read More]

Changing of the Guard

It was a beautiful morning at Tortoises (the premier limited-run, maximum fun workout on Wednesdays in Apex). Two Friendly New Guys (FNGs) joined the PAX in the gloom this morning: Sega (who was being punished for forgetting to do his homework) and Matador (who was being punished for being friends with Frisco). For Your Humble Correspondent (YHC) (i.e., me, Frisco the Legend), the day started with Extra Credit Pullups (ECP) with Spartan and recently named (i. [Read More]
