Ferris Bueller's Day Off

As we all search for the meaning of life and our purpose and all that serious stuff, sometimes, it’s nice to just have a little fun. Ferris knows this for sure…so let’s have some fun on our day off. We start the day with the pledge and a quick warm up jog to the neighborhood clubhouse parking lot for the warm-up. Let’s start the day by saying Good Morning to Ferris and then meet some of our other favorites. [Read More]

A nice morning at FOD. 27 PAX made there way to west Cary to celebrate Liverpool turning 50 and earning the title of RESPECT. Accidental Tribute

When planning this workout I thought about picking a theme or even sky writing but nothing came to me. So I picked a route and some exercises and went with it. Jog to the front of the school and completing a figure 8 with the loops. Warm Up - SSH, Good Mornings, Merkins, and Plank Jacks. Thang 1 - Partner up for laps around the figure 8 route. Alternating 8 burpees, 8 partner merkins when you see your partner. [Read More]

Ninety Two Percent

This was YHC’s first time out Qing Gran Torino. After studying the mess out of Google Maps the plan was set. YHC drove to up a few minutes before the normal 10min early mark YHC tries to hit, checked out the parking lot and saw the gates needed to get to where we were going today were locked soooo, change of plans! Warm Up Run the pickle? Loop? Bus circle? Do we have a name for it yet? [Read More]

19 Murphs in 2019 (2 of 19)

Pre-Blast 17 HIM for the second of 19 Murphs (in 2019) at FOD. YHC feels so inspired and encouraged by men who would make their way out on a freezing cold morning to grow stronger together. After YHC3 blasted this work out, everyman knew what they were coming out for: Stronger backs, stronger hearts in 2019. Awesome! The Warmup Pledge of Allegiance at flag. Run to the shelter, circle up for a few GMs, SSH, Merkins. [Read More]

As you wish*

Well, a day passed, and so did a year. First post and Q of the new age, at the greatest AO in Downtown Apex on a Thursday morning. Tossed the notion of an EC run out there, and I was joined by the Site Q in training, Sub, and the craziest man in Carpex right now, @djvtec (who has just signed on as the sixth man, on the 6-man 2019 BRR team, aptly named F3 Carpex Pick up the Six (TM) (R). Plan B. Think anyone noticed?

YHC signed up to Q arguably the toughest of CARPEx AO’s last week and immediately set to thinking about what to bring to the PAX. Pullups? Not at this sprawling hey pull-up-bar lacking site. Celebration Merkins? Ditto no… although the big shelter has plenty, there’s just not that much room? Compass Merkins? There’s a thought. But one of my fave’s are the baseball fields, providing an nice setting for low-mileage beatdowns. [Read More]

Carpex Challenge 2018 is in the Books

Congrats to the 36 that participated in this year’s challenge. In the end, very few completed all 3 Fs, and in fact, not many were able to post at every AO in 2018. Perhaps I made it too difficult this year, or maybe I didn’t do a good enough job marketing the challenge. But I think it’s more likely a statement of our growth. In the end, it was successful, because I know that it made some number of PAX push themselves a bit more and get out of their comfort zone. [Read More]

Gloomiest Cinder Blocks!

(CMU’s - Apparently) 19 Met at the Gloomiest AO in all Cary this morning (1/7/19) for a workout, and they were not disappointed. Snots, Ollie and YHC met at 0445 for some extra credit intervals and worked different paces over at the Davis Drive Middle School track. The intervals are always tough, yet rewarding and today was no different. As the pax were arriving in to parking lot, whoa, wait, who’s that? [Read More]
