Voting Day at FWD

QIC Staubach 25 HIMs showed up for a warm Voting Tuesday at FWD. We were expecting 26 but @bagels took a dive on the EC run as it was clear that he was slightly intimidated with what was waiting ahead. We are glad its only a sprain and hope he has a speedy recovery. I was a bit nervous with the size of this group but made sure not to let them see me sweat. [Read More]

Blockade Runner

YHC doesn’t Q that often, so when I saw an opening at Point Break, I jumped on it! Pickles was supposed to have his b-day Q, but things happen, so YHC signed up and dreamed up a new exercise to experiment with on the PAX. The morning started with YHC dropping off a couple of cinder blocks at a large parking lot behind the New Waverly Place office building. Same building where my dentist’s office is located so you know I had pain on my mind already. [Read More]

2020 Krispy Kreme Challenge

So it doesn’t happen in F3 unless there is a Back Blast. My stomach lining would disagree with that after a dozen donuts. It might even make its own “back blast” all over your shoes. But rules are rules so… This morning 15 HIMs showed up for a pre-race Murph. I was glad when Old Maid read a short piece about Lt. Michael Murphy and the sacrifice he, his team, and the teams who tried to extract them made in that battle. [Read More]

A great start

I’ll be the first to admit that I did loose some sleep night before, I did end up rewriting my workout ideas multiple times, I did have some anxiety. And once we got rolling that morning I did suffer a bit from my winke. Mumble chatter was prominent, for certain. But I was warned. Despite all that after all was said and done it sure did feel good. What a great start. [Read More]

Are We Gonna Do This The Whole Time?

Slippery When Wet - home of the EC run as well as where YHC completed week 1 of the 2019 IronPax Challenge. In celebration of how much that sucked the first time, we’re gonna do it again today. Several PAX did some kind of EC run, 2 PAX for EC pull-ups. At 0545, there were 15 gathered round the flag. First exercise, Pledge of Allegiance. Peace at SWW / Crazy sheet abroad

YHC loves his annual (less if it can be avoided) trips to AOs below Route 1 but the Friday ones are doubly special. Once a DZ’er, always a DZ’er after all. But with the holiday-ish week upon us and the 2.0s not yet in school, tis the time to commit to a 20+ minute commute and see how the other half lives. And boy is it a different world down here in Car-ner Springs. [Read More]

Release The Hounds

16 for the main event and 8 for the pre-run on what started out as a pretty normal Monday morning - 40ish degrees in December, a plan to cover some ground with a few exercises thrown in, and Burt yelling my hospital name before we even left the parking lot. But we eventually got into the Regency neighborhood where someone released their pair of attack dogs as we were doing hill repeats in front of their driveway. [Read More]

Do it for the Coffee

It was a chilly below freezing morning, so my overarching goal was to keep the PAX moving (warm) without collapsing from exhaustion (me). A delicate balance to be sure. No FNG’s as I start the disclaimer. Then stop the disclaimer as Augmented wheels into the parking lot. Then start the disclaimer *again*. Mosey to the flag, do the Pledge, and leave the small parking lot in favor of the big parking lot.
