Return of the Deck II

YHC read Kermit’s Rush Hour BB yesterday and thought it was time to bring out a slightly different version of the deck. Funny story first though. Yesterday YHC posted to the Cary Cartel channel an optional to EC before BH to work the Hillz challenge. Plan was to meet at the bottom of the Shepherd’s Vineyard segment and run in then do another repeat on the way back. No one smashed the HC button so I wasn’t expecting anyone so I was very pleasantly surprised to see two cars in the parking lot at 0505 when I pulled up. What a co-inky-dink

At 0510 I parked my car at Apex Nature Park. At 0515 I set off on a little EC run. At 0542 I arrived back at my car to find 10 other HIM standing around. So at 0545, I asked them if they wanted to join me in some random exercising. They agreed. So we were off. Mosey to the top parking lot and circle up. **Warm-Up **Good Morning, Windmill, Steve Earle [Read More]

The Switcheroo

Not going to pretend that I wasn’t a little excited about this day. Today was my 1 year anniversary of my first post with F3, right here at Dante’s Peak. A couple weeks prior Parker messaged me about this week as it was his 40th birthday last year for my first post. So we decided to keep it quiet, leave him on the Q Sheet, and pull the switcheroo on the Pax that I would be leading the beat down for the morning. [Read More]

Barrel of Pickles

It feels like it’s been quite a while since my VQ, but I’m glad Q #2 was finally here! Last week I made sure to do recon during Hamm’s VQ and was please to see there were 4 pickles, making 5 different running lanes. I now had a plan… 1 FNG, so struggled through the disclaimer and part of the mission and whatnot followed by the declaration of allegiance to Old Glory. [Read More]

Be The Light

Opening: YHC started at 5:30am with the standard F3 welcome - F3 Mission, Disclaimer, F3 Credo, and Pledge of Allegiance. No FNGs were present. There was an expected level of mumblechatter for VQ week. Coney showed up in his Y Guides vest - well played Running Bear! Warm-up: Moseyed north to the 1st middle school parking lot to the left and circled up for: 30 Side Straddle Hops IC 10 Good Mornings IC 15 Daisy Pickers IC 20 Imperial Walkers IC 10 Standard Merkins OMD Calf Stretches L/R with 10 count en espanol courtesy of Buenos Dias and delayed 10 count from Kickback who was apparently engaged in some mumblechatter. Anything for a Q-zie

While perusing our beautiful Q-sheet, looking for a spot to q and remembered I had never Q’d FMJ and there was an open spot and you get a koozie. I mean when stars align you go with it, even if you don’t have a theme ready to go. Everyone gathered in the parking lot, trying to stay away from the problematic traffic coming in. Disclaimer for the Pax/FNGs and we’re off. [Read More]

Breathtaker Camo Koozie Q

YHC bid on and won Breathtaker, a 20lb weight vest that is auctioned off for charity each Friday in South Wake, which comes with a 5 post minimum for the week. Not having earned my camo koozie yet, breathtaker made it’s 3rd appearance of the week so far. 32 were witness to what it looks like to Q with an extra 20lbs, in fact Theismann and Pivot both had their own vests as well! We all remember our first time...

First off, let me just say how great its been dragging my sorry, out-of-shape 6 out of bed most mornings to go hang out and sweat with a bunch of crazy guys like those reading this right now. The last 3-4 months have been amazing, not only physically, but mentally, emotionally and even dare I say spiritually? (That’s weird) Seriously, thank you all for your leadership every day when I post, not just from the QIC, but also the guys that stick out their hand for a high five when they’re running by or say, “Good work! Confusing Relay Races

POSTED ON BEHALF OF UTI BY YHC EC: Sub, Peeping Tom, UTI, GTL, Squatter Peeping Tom made a call out last week for someone to sub in since he is still technically on the mend. YHC is working on increasing his bootcamp Qs. 2 years in and I can’t tell you how many I have under my belt but it’s definitely not many. Turning over a new leaf in my 3rd year of F3 and making sure to jump on these leadership opportunities. It wasn’t a Murph

After stressing out for a few weeks about my first Q, it’s now Monday. I ping Peeping Tom, my cousin who EH’d me one year ago, to get some feedback on my plan. Grief is delivered, something about how I’m asking him about this the day before I’m supposed to Q. I attempt to correct him, stating I’m fine, I’ll have all day Tuesday to nail things down. Additional grief is exchanged about how I’ve actually only got 10 hours before the Q. [Read More]
