put that mumble chatter aside and commit to something

November 1st, 2017 One goal, and only one goal- stop the mumble chatter. Is that really a good goal, or is that a selfish request? Either way, I am the Q and took on the challenge. Luckily we had a FNG (welcome Tubeless and thanks Wrangler for bringing him out) which would inspire Burt to get warmed up. What really got Burt going was seeing the duct tape holding my shoes together. Michelob and Hotspot 3 year Postaversary

This year a lot was different from that Monday morning three years ago, when Hotspot and Michelob first posted to F3 and A-team. YHC doesn’t remember the temp, but you can be sure it wasn’t 36 degrees cold! Back then there was only one Monday AO in what was to be known as Carpex. This fine morning in 2017, the only two members of that PAX from three years ago were your site Q’s and your Q’s for the day. [Read More]

Chopping and Running

I knew my trail run race was coming up but I was a bit surprised to find out I signed up to Q the day before it. Oh well, guess its good and I can not kill my legs with 100 squats or something. Oh and then Hello Kitty asked to do the meow mile so it was a good warm up. Meow Mile (2 miles): Hello Kitty, CK, Shut In, Ma Bell, and Chanticleer [Read More]

BOMBS around a Campfire

Ever since it’s gotten so that it stays dark well past 6:30, I haven’t seen many groups venture into the gloom murk pitch blackness that is North Cary Park. To hell with that - this is @F3DangerZone! So I set up a very cute campfire in the field to entertain the troops. After making sure everyone who wanted one had a headlamp, we’re off. How quickly..

How quickly things change. Last week, Gloom temperatures were in the 70’s and humid. This morning the PAX broke out the long sleeves and sweatshirts (some of them, anyway) for temps starting with a “4.” And that’s Freedom degrees, not in some commie temperature. The Tortoises crew had made the journey north in order to partake of the 2nd/3rdF after the workout (more on this later), so go time was even more of a goat rodeo than normal at SnS. [Read More]

No Mercy

13 HIM came out to A-Team just 48 hours after the CSAUP Odyssey seeking no mercy, and getting none. Cheddar-Bo showed up to unlock the gate as the PAX were gathering, but YHC made the call to stay where we were. Warm-Up - Mosey over to the parking lot next to the big hill for some SSH, imperial walkers, plank jacks, merkins, and possibly the slowest version of Good Morning in Carpex history. [Read More]

Mucho Beasto

I was about a hot minute away Sunday evening from texting Goose to see if he wanted to go to Kryptonite when Hot Spot’s weekly Q summary came in. And guess what? There was my name for A-Team! You see, I knew that. I was just testing y’all to see YOU knew that. Yeah. yeah. As we rolled up to the Park entrance, no cars. That can only mean 5 things: [Read More]

3rd Annual Franklinaversary

On the last Monday in September in 2014, YHC was privileged to be an FNG at an A-Team workout. Today, YHC took the opportunity of his anniversary to repeat his inaugural F3 workout, this time as the Q, just as I did on the last Monday in September 2015 and 2016. Following the first time I participated in this workout (under the leadership of Denali), I couldn’t raise my arms above my head for 3 days and couldn’t walk properly for 6 days. [Read More]

Pocket Park Blues

I rolled in early and saw a few guys already stretching next to the church and wondered if I had gotten mixed up on the time. Turns out they were part of the #meowmile crew, and off they went. They returned a few minutes with Hello Kitty and a few others looking for extra credit. 5:45, everybody’s here, no FNGs, welcome to our brother Matlock from F3ENC, let’s roll. Warm Up [Read More]

10 Yards of Football

The troops gathered late at Slippery when wet – but gather quickly they did. We had a visitor from the Mother ship today – Cheese Turd (or perhaps it was Curd) who made the mistake of following Nature Boy into the park after seeing the F3 sticker on his car – I think it in involved three U-Turns before the got to the right place. Once we were together, we circled around the parking lot and then into the back grass field for some warm up.
