JP's VVQ

After returning home from the Oak City Recovery Run Club block party on Tuesday night, I sat with the M watching the Bachelor Winter Games (because I suppose that’s more entertaining than the quadrennial actual winter games), looking at a map of Bond Park, and perusing the exicon and this fine F3 nation page. It was a 2 hour show. We are diehard Bachelor fans (cc: @AndrewPass and @AP013 on Twitter). [Read More]

Keep It Simple

You really only have two options when it’s rainy, or cold, or gawd-awful hot and humid, or you’re a little sore, or tired, or pick any of the excuses you’ve heard from sad clowns in your orbit: you can embrace the suck and press on, or you can cash it in. Embracing the suck is transformational. It builds discipline and resilience, it provides a sense of accomplishment at overcoming challenges, and it deepens bonds with any of the other crazy yahoos out there with you. Vanilla on the rocks, with a splash of mist

Six men gathered in the purest of A-Team conditions: raining and 50 and a closed gate. Those of you who frequent A-Team know of what I say. Apex Cheddar Bo (since we now have an official Carpex Cheddar Bo) rarely shows up by 0545, and certainly not when God graces this earth with a cleansing rain. And man, that seems to happen about 3 out of every 4 A-Teams. With YHC’s knees aching from last week’s wind-sprint-o-rama at BH (courtesy of YHC’s ego), and with bone-on-bone Billy, a nice, leisurely pace was set for the warm-up. It's cold, but it's no Reykjavik!

YHC was truly impressed with all the CARPex crazies talking EC last night on the MC Groupme channel. Between Insomnia, EC Ruck, OTB in South Wake and Pittsboro — and a Tortoise Challenge from @f3earhart — was anyone going to Post at the Utopia that is the unofficial Wednesday CARPex convergence? As @flipflopcarpex and YHC rolled into the parking lot, the answered seemed to be “no”. Lots of dark, homogenic, exhaust-spewing vehicles but little cold breath to be seen. [Read More]

12 Days of Christmas Already?

Got to the park with 15 mins. to go and already had a couple people there. I chatted with Yoga Mat but headed off to see how far my warm up lap was. About 0.6 miles which would work nicely. Warm up Up the hill and around the parking lot to Chanticleer’s for Plank hold, 10 Plank Jacks, 10 Mountain Climbers, 10 Good Mornings and 10 Donkey Kicks. Then we jogged back to the park. I am thankful & I am third

In an effort to add a few more Q’s to YHC’s list before the end of the year, YHC locked in on Thanksgiving morning at Bradford’s Ordinary a few months ago, only to later find out that it would be a Carpex Convergence… and 60-minutes at that. Have not fear PAX, YHC is up to the task and set forth to drop not only a beatdown on the you, but hopefully an impactful post, thus the theme of I am third. [Read More]

Dora proves she is ready to move past 1,2,3

For the first time, the site Qs at Flying Circus decided that someone other than themselves might be worthy to Q at their new site. It is indeed, a beautiful site, complete with two schools, one elementary and one middle school. A crowd gathered on a crisp cool morning (including a few newcomers complianing about the commute - (we dont want hear it Grinch, Termpappy and Kitty). We know how big Carpex is. [Read More]

Circle of Death...
