Pair of Rucksters discussing the Ruck Life of F3

Date: 11/22/19 As I continue my quest to Q once a week for 2019, This will make it the big 5-0. For me, this is quite epic especially knowing I do not run so much. However, it doesn’t hinder me from Q’ing. I really like bootcamp workouts, but, rucking is one of those workouts that I’m most comfortable doing because I do not have to think about running. Don’t get me wrong, I do think about running but it’s not important at all in my life anymore. [Read More]

Double Your Pleasure with Double 7s Doubled

Two years ago I was introduced to F3 and it has become one of the top 10 most impactful relationships on my life to include all people and organizations I have been a part of. You HIM have encouraged and spurred me on to be more in all three Fs than I could have ever imagined becoming. It is with a heart of gratitude that I embark on this week of 7 Qs as I hope to give back to those who have given to me and encourage those who are just beginning their f3 journey. [Read More]

DORA Figure Eight

QIC: Gibraltar Date: 09/20/2019 After 7 years of not exercising in a disciplined way and with only one month of training with F3, Pivot told me if I would like to be a Q. At the beginning it sounds to me very challenging, to lead the workout with people who are really in good shape but I did not want to miss the opportunity and thanks to Torpedo I was able to schedule my Q for the last day of the VQ week. WWW had a look in his eye about the planned Rucker Q, so all PAX were on edge. [Read More]

Escargot, my car go

I came across a news story Tuesday that the 2019 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nominees had been announced. I don’t remember how the news came to catch my attention but catch it it did. Start with the fact that two of my favorite bands were on the list (again) and that I hadn’t even heard of a couple others and I got intrigued. An hour or so later, not only had I created a little Spotify playlist to listen to at home, but an idea for a Q was developing as well. [Read More]

Franklinaversary - 5th edition

On the last Monday in September in 2014, YHC was privileged to be an FNG at an A-Team workout. Today, YHC took the opportunity of his anniversary to repeat his inaugural F3 workout, this time as the Q, just as I did on the last Monday in September 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018. Following the first time I participated in this workout (under the leadership of Denali), I couldn’t raise my arms above my head for 3 days and couldn’t walk properly for 6 days. [Read More]

People actually showed up

As it was the Friday of the BRR, and having not seen much activity on Slack for people planning to show up for the Rolling Stone workout, and knowing there were only moderate SCs for the only official ruck AO in all of Carpex, I really didn’t have much planned out in advance for the crew that was anxiously awaiting my arrival at 0527. That all being said, there was a surprisingly large turnout for Rolling Stone, which in fact, blotted out the Bootcampers at GT by an almost 2:1 ratio. [Read More]

3.5875 for Rucking the Maynard

Three of us gathered at SNS start point at 0330 to get out and ruck the May May. For all three of us, it was our VRTM although Slappy had previously run the Maynard. We waited a bit for Bartman, who had been a HC the night before. A quick disclaimer, and it was 0333. I had a perfect song queued up, thinking that we’d be leaving at either 0334 or 0335 - in reference to the classic Chicago hit, “25 or 6 to 4. [Read More]

Frisco Rucks Up His Q

Day 5 of Frisco Terror(ible) Q week. Nugget of Wisdom on designing Ruck workouts.: Everything sounds better the night before with your feet propped up, a beer in hand, and no 30lbs pack on your back. When I was actually lugging around the ruck and calling merkins, knerkins and squats I cursed my arrogant stupidity. My best hope that morning was that someone would hold my hair when YHC finally worked himself into a frat-boys-have-nothing-on-me bender merlot explosion. [Read More]
