Happy July 6, comrades!

YHC rolled up to Hell’s Bells on Monday, a little surprised to see a full parking lot and a half-dozen PAX already at it. It turns out I had not missed the start time, it was just the ECP crowd getting things done. Excellent. This past few months while I’ve been unable to run and having no access to the gym to do some weight training, I’ve taken up kettlebells as a standard workout. [Read More]

Ruck 20100a and 20100b

A beautiful morning for Rolling Stone. Turns out this is my 100th ruck of the year, so the workout was laced with 100 reps / motions / etc. YHC showed up for some EC shortly after 0500. Getting in 2 miles under 26 minutes was a great warm up (Ruck 20100a). I got back to see 1) some smiling faces and questions about how much weight people should or should not bring on this morning’s workout and 2) that the GT flag was not in its usual spot. [Read More]

What is Frisco's name on slack today?

FYI Bartman, this is a 5:45 start AO and not 5:30. FYI Frisco, this is a 5:45 start AO and not 5:46. I apologize for all of the Frisco attention in this one. He attempted to start a brotherly quarrel on Slack between Water Wings and me a day before the workout. Mosey behind the bathroom building to hide from Frisco who showed up late, but he found us anyways. Then continued the mosey to the left lot for warm-ups. [Read More]

It's not the size of the rock that matters

Weather forecast for this morning was not looking good. And Claymore is one of those AO where options for hiding from the elements are limited. Unless you want to hang out under a tree. There are lots of those. I guess the dugouts technically work but then you have to worry about social distancing and how to do you split the PAX up. And there’s a bathroom. But it’s locked. And speaking of splitting PAX up… just don’t want to go there. [Read More]

Second Verse Same as the First

As Pickles always says “Preparation H is key”. So to impress my junior site Q I made sure my weinke was laid out by my keys last night. Driving in to Claymore I felt great, I was back out in the Gloom, I had successfully Q-ed HB yesterday with a modified version of one of my COVID lockdown workouts, and I was heading to the premier limited run AO in Carpex on a Tuesday. Are we still writing backblasts?

Hello, and welcome to Fastest Friday AO in Carpex! The site that never shut down. Where mileage records are set and asterisks are badges of honor. YHC put forth his best marketing campaign he could to reQruit our native #beardedmillennial but with the Covid15 around his waste, Fortnight at his fingers, and a warm and dry fartsack YHC received word this morning at 0830 he “didn’t hear the alarms.” And he’s “sorry man”. Lion of Fallujah - Memorial Day Workout

Memorial Day 2020 - Normally there is a convergence in F3 Carpex but not this year thanks to COVID-19. Multiple workouts were held and @Theismann put out a call that all AO’s be Q’d by a Vet. That was a good idea and very appropriate. YHC started thinking about what hero would be honored. The quick and obvious choices were my FIL or his West Point classmate Nick Rowe (Five Years to Freedom - His story of being a Vietnam POW). [Read More]

Keep Calm and Carry On

YHC checked the Q sheet Thursday and no Q had signed up. I was supposed to be out of state this weekend, but those plans got canceled, of course. So, I picked up the Q. Warm-up: We started with the pledge, then 8 boot campers separated off from 4 bruisers / ruckers. We ran from the flag to the kiosk in Bond Park for a little warm-up, basically just stretching with some good mornings, calf-stretch, and arm circles. [Read More]

Bartmanniversary V

Strange times. I’d like to think that five years ago when I ventured to A-Team for my first post, I knew I’d be back ITG today to commemorate it. I surely couldn’t have predicted anything else going on in the world this week. Just one day prior, YHC had rucked the OTB TRM thanks to Old Maid Productions. Not feeling tip-top shape today but let’s see what we can do. Good to meet some newer guys like Mama’s Boy and Shipyard. [Read More]

Dr. Dre makes ya feel alright

#COVID19 is now officially in full hysteria mode. I mean that in the “uncontrolled” and not “exaggerated” sense of the term since who knows if the hysteria is warranted or not. But considering that the NBA just suspended their season… and travel from Europe into the US is blocked… and America’s Dad (or whatever we are calling Tom Hanks nowadays) is not in quarantine in Australia as a result of COVID… well, the shite has gotten real.
