I'll Have the Bradford's Ordinary; 86 Callahan; Sub Burt

This BB is generally what we did this am…some stuff is out of order and other info is made up. But I wrote a BB. Tank Top Thursday. Bag O’ Tanks in the House. 73 degrees, 92% Humidity, No Wind. Clear. 20 dudes in the lot, including Wonk, the other GodFather of CarPex along with CK (not Captain Kirk…although we now see Captain more than CK…maybe CK needs a ride). Nice to see you Wonk. Stop #3 on The Pain Stick Express

So when Build-A-Bear messaged me on Monday to “ask” me to incorporate the pain sticks into my Q on Wednesday, of course I said yes. You’ve seen him right? So with my original workout put back on the shelf for another day, I started drawing up some new plans. Big group this morning of Insomniacs, Vesperers and SNSers. The boot campers broke off and headed toward the community center to find the afore mentioned pain sticks waiting for them. [Read More]

...Yes, there is a lake at this park

AO: A-Team August 13, 2018 Stepping in late last night to sub for an injured Pet Sounds, YHC posted what innocently turned out to be a somewhat misinformed plan for a Route 66 around the lake. Shout out to Sosa for warning of construction and related obstructions. Upon arrival and inspection of this particular AO (YHC’s first posting there), it was decided by a committee of one to modify. And, it being Monday the 13th, why not play in the parking lot with that number. Here we go again

After an already fun-filled week (BroGa, evening yog, #ruckTheMaynard), a stroke of good fortune allowed YHC to Q at Slippery When Wet on his birthday. 13 hearty PAX turned out to help me get started on my 44th trip around the sun. Plenty of #InvisibleShirts in the mix for the EC runners, and a fair bit of gloom to start us off. With the 1975 playlist in full swing, we did an awkward pickle run and circled up for. [Read More]

Well, I took a stroll on the old long walk..

Friday evening, August the 10th, six ruckers took to the mean streets of Cary for a 1stF/2ndF walkabout. That’s right, Kitty - you can try to deny it, but you now qualify. Thang Gather at Bond Bros and join a 2ndF in progress. Step off at 6:40 with a target of Fortnight. Katniss strode out the 1.7mi at a tick under 17-minute pace and was promptly fired by Banjo from pacer duty. [Read More]

Triple-Header

First off, YHC is grateful for being introduced to F3 by my man Flacco and to being so warmly received by each & every Carpex HIM I’ve encountered. I sure am enjoying my F1’s & actually look forward to collecting in the gloom & getting the sweat flowing with this fine group. I’ve been able to participate in a couple F2 & F3 events as well & will be active here – Someone said F3 is kind of like a cult, but I disagree – this is a high-quality fraternity with only the good attributes: make each other better (HIMs) via challenge & encouragement, serve to improve the communities we live in, & have some damn fun along the way. Thank You For Your Leadership

Sometimes jokes get out of hand. Like the way we all say “Thank you for your leadership” whether we’re being sincere or being silly. It was all grins and giggles until Hello Kitty announced that he was going to be on the radio taking part in a serious discussion about school choice in this great state of ours. Shut-in just had to say it. “If you fit in a TYFYL I’ll give you 100 burpees. [Read More]

This anniversary beatdown brought to you by the number 11

Today is my 1-Year F3 Anniversary!!!! First post was a year ago today at Flirtin’ with Disaster. Funny story about that…… Blue Water EH’d me, but due to a mix-up, I posted in Carpex and he posted in South Wake. Joe Smith was was the Q that morning. It was his VQ, and I learned who “Dora” is, and how to get to the “Bridge of Pain.” Sosa and I were both named after COT. 5 Burbees OYO

Pre-Blast 13 lean mean running machines convened at Kryptonite for a sweatier-then-normal high tempo jaunt through the darker-every-day gloom that enveloped CarPex’s exclusive AO designed to push even the most elite athletes to grow stronger by challenging themselves and one another to go further and faster than they ever have or thought they could because they had inadvertently placed self-imposed limits that God wants for them to break. The Warmup [Read More]
