A trip to the zoo brought to you by the numbers 7 and 14

Nice warmer weather again this morning brought out 13 of Carpex’s finest to the premier skate park in SW Wake County. YHC tried to solicit some requests for the workout today - didn’t get much but decided to work in what I could 530 - time to start - a few still messing around at a truck trying to find a pair of gloves - so the rest of us went over there and did 1 burpee OYO to start. All aboard the Middle School Bus

A brisk cool morning greeted the kids waiting for the bus this morning on their way to Salem Middle School. The gathered in the parking lot and waited patiently for 5:30. Apparently, the bus driver (who was their early) wanted to protest the start time so we didn’t get moving until 5:31. Largemouth wondered if he was going to make everyone stand around until 5:45. While it seemed like a good idea…. The Mag Mile

A beautifully clear day at Wolverine. 5:30 in the morning - 50 degrees. Moon is clear and stars are out. Had an aggressive plan for this morning, but 31 PAX showed up for a beatdown, so I had to adjust. I had planned for a Track & Field event, but ended up with only the track - well, I have my next Q tee’d up. We ran The Magnificent Mile - Nicknamed “The Mag Mile”. The return of an old favorite

I pulled in to Tortoise Wednesday morning - excited to lead the men who are always slow and controlled with purpose. It has been a long time for me since I had visited tortoises but was excited to be back. There was a collection of normal activity as we gathered to begin the workout- some folks doing EC pullups and Frisco doing something stupid (apparently he lost another bet that required him to wear a weighted vest during the workout). Chilly Mini-Cooper

I have to admin it was quite chilly this morning but 12 PAX braved the colder temperatures to celebrate the 1 year anniversary of the finest site in NW Cary on Thursday. I am sure the PAX would have preferred Clementine’s Q but since he had an unfortunate accident last weekend on the Odyssey YHC took over the lead spot. Get better soon buddy! We all arrived early so it was tempting to take off before 5:45 but I thought Trike might come in on two wheels but he never showed up so off we went. [Read More]

Military Time

28 strong for a #TeamFOD Q this morning. YHC has now become used to 0530 (and soon to be 0515) workouts that upon arrival there was plenty of time to stretch. Pax started rolling in but, of course, none made an entrance like Burt…yes Burt was at FOD. I think for the first time since we tried to throw Callahan a surprise baby shower, so like what, 2-3 years ago!? Anyways he came in windows down mumblin his chatter BEFORE HE EVEN PARKED HIS CAR! If the glove don't fit...

18 of Carpex’s finest HIMs arrived in the finally crisp fall morning hours at North Cary Park for a Doogie VQ adventure. Mumblechatter was at its finest with Burt in tow especially after I gave him free reign to speak his mind since he named me 4 months ago at Wolverine (spoiler alert). Unfortunately for Burt he needed to be reigned back in only a few minutes later… After a nice jog around the pickle we completed the following: [Read More]

Milk Run

33 Pax gathered to celebrate YHC’s 35th birthday… well actually, they gathered to watch what would happen when Frisco drank a half gallon of milk prior to the beatdown. Banjo joined Frisco in the lactose challenge. Surprisingly, they were able to keep it all down during the workout. Pickles and Parker got in some EC merkins and several pax got in an EC fellowship run with Half. Once the new start time of 0530 rolled around, we were off! [Read More]
