Dawgpound Yoga

It had been a few weeks since YHC last did a Q in Carpex so YHC figured he would kill 2 birds with 1 stone and Q an AO that he had never Q’d either. PAX of 20 showed up for an old school South Wake inspired beatdown with a special guest - The Dawgpound (SW’s Kettlebell Master and Crazy Ivan Site Q) Warm Up YHC had a goal to keep things under a mile today. Brought my weinke to a church parking lot

Opening- Working on a short notice from Banjo that he couldn’t Q this morning, YHC quickly threw my name on the Q-sheet. No FNG’s this morning. No sense in wasting any time so recited the Pledge and let’s get working. Warm-up- After a slow mosey around the pickle we circled up for a Crimson favorite of extremely slow Good Mornings, SSH, Sir Fazio, calf stretch, and windmill. The Thang #1- First we counted off into two groups. [Read More]

Letting Go at Slippery When Wet

After two and a half years of posting, YHC finally got around to Q’ing. It was a glorious day for a VQ as the feel of fall was in the air and the PAX were in a jovial mood. We had 22 PAX in attendance (including 1 doing the IronPAX) and there were no FNGs. We started with the pledge and then ran to the playground-facing lot for a warm up as it was the only lit area in the entire AO beyond the bathrooms. [Read More]

See Ya!

AO: Tortoises PAX: ASHBURY, CRIMSON, EZEKIEL, FLENDERSON, FRISCO, HALF BACK, HELLO KITTY, HOTTY TODDY, INTIMIDATOR, LOOKOUT, MEATLOAF, ROASTERS, SEGA, SHUT-IN, SUPERCELL, TRAFFIC CONE, TRIPLE LINDY Today brought something that I thought was years away, my VQ. In June I connected with Liverpool at a neighborhood party and asked what he had been up to, he replied I’ll pick you up at 5am Monday and you’ll see this thing called F3. After almost tossing merlot with a Hello Kitty Q at A-Team I survived and kept coming back for more pain. [Read More]

Twice in a week at Sovereign Grace - this was slow and controlled with purpose

Very excited to be back at the hallowed grounds of Tortoises. I once thought the idea of a limited run workout was the only possible type of workout there was, however, that probably says more about my former fitness level then anything else. I now know how much harder it is to plan a limited run workout that really challenges the Pax. However, I believe I was able to today. [Read More]

What are these Bells for anyway?

YHC did something a bit unusual and decided to Q a Kettle bell workout today. This one required some prep work and I hit the ground at the newest of locations for Hells Bells and was greeted with 24 brave souls. My ride for the day (or really for most days) Nature Boy was a bit delingquent today so Earhart was really sweatting whether or not we would make it. We did - three minutes to spare - no problem. Freebird and Frisco Co-Q

Day 4 of Frisco Terror(ible) Week of Qs. One of the skills I have learned is “if you can’t do it, co-Q it”. Thus faced with the prospect of Bounty Hunters being 4th on the list this week and a massive, runnable site I decided to EH the exclusive and sometimes elusive Freebird as a co-Q. Luckily I twisted my ankle a few weeks back getting a ladder out of my garage for him so he feels bad enough to jump in an Q with me. Day 1: The Frisco "Week of Terror(ible) Qs" Kicks Off

So when Red Ryder begged me to Q the Lion’s Den Q I agreed (since I technically owe him a favor for helping me build a gazebo for my M). Then I noticed that there was a free spot open every day of the week. It wasn’t my anniversary and I wasn’t sure I could do it (still am not), but for some reason I found myself filling my name into those open slots. [Read More]
