The Hill is alive with the sound of Merkins (and pull-ups)

So a few take-aways from my VQ at Tortoises. Be prepared to be alone when you offer a EC 3 mile run when both @Earhart and @DiscoDuck are not there. Remembering the proper commands is harder than it looks. Sorry fellas, next time I will remember the “Recover” command. Carrying a cheat sheet with you sounds like a good idea, until you try to read it in the dark while in the process of doing an exercise. [Read More]

Crunch Time, Boo Yah

Crunch Time, Boo Yah February 6, 2018 AO: Rush Hour Q: Banjo Pax: Aristocrat, Disco Duck, Mojo, Ollie, YHC Banjo During morning mosey to school with youngest 2.0, I was reminded that M will be picking up 2.0 from school. With some new found free time, my cooking dinner responsibilities were last night, YHC pondered ever so briefly on the prospects: post at Rush Hour or Q Rush Hour. Perfect. YHC had a planned scheduled stop at Peak Olive Oil [Read More]

Men at Work

When the M tells you that your plans are canceled and you are able to go work out AND you see that there’s a vacancy in the Q spot. Coincidence or Providence? It matters not because there was work to be done. Warm Up: Jog over to the grassy area and square up. 20x SSH IC 10x GM IC 10x WM IC 10x IW IC Head back over to the parking lot where we line up on the curb for… [Read More]

Fellowship Pain Sticks

Last week at Rush Hour the fountains were frozen, this week we were all wearing short sleeves. Warm-Up Mosey around the parking lot a couple of times then circle up. We often go around the horn during Mary, but why not the warm-up? So we went around the horn doing side straddle hops, imperial walkers, cotton pickers and calf stretches. The Thang Mosey back behind the parking deck and grab a pain stick. [Read More]

Christmas Lights

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, but it’s beginning to feel a lot like spring. Five HIM gathered in downtown Cary to enjoy the Christmas lights and 65 degree weather. Warm-Up Mosey around to the corner parking lot next to the giant Christmas the for side straddle hops, imperial walkers, plank jacks, merkins and mountain climbers. The Thang Mosey down Academy Street to FUMC, then continue to the fountain while enjoying the Christmas decorations and performing ten merkins at every other light pole. [Read More]

Monday morning (super moon) lights

YHC had planned for a 45-minute DICE themed Q, because you know, my friends call me Dice. But, with the big reveal of the College Football Playoffs yesterday, YHC called an audible… OMAHA! As the Pax gathered in the gloom under the light of the Super Moon, YHC headed to the big field to plant the flag. YHC headed back to the Pax. Some mumble chatter under their belts the Pax were ready. [Read More]

I am thankful & I am third

In an effort to add a few more Q’s to YHC’s list before the end of the year, YHC locked in on Thanksgiving morning at Bradford’s Ordinary a few months ago, only to later find out that it would be a Carpex Convergence… and 60-minutes at that. Have not fear PAX, YHC is up to the task and set forth to drop not only a beatdown on the you, but hopefully an impactful post, thus the theme of I am third. [Read More]

Busto di Glutei

BB 11 PAX brought their workout clothes to work (or hurried home to change) and met YHC on the Ambassador Loop for a “sans-winkie” Q. Let’s do this. The Warmup - Pledge of Allegiance at the Shovel Flag - Jog around the parking lot, painting the lines along the way, circle up for warm up - Happy Jacks; Cotton Pickers, Crabjacks; Wide-Grip SLOW Merkins; Imperial Walkers; Wolverines (of course) - Run to the deck, grab a pain stick [Read More]

3 Hills

The inspiration for the workout today at Phoenix came from reflecting on the hill of Calvary on which Christ persevered and shed His blood for us on the cross. We took on three hills at Phoenix, and I asked the PAX to think of Him and His sacrifice as they persevered this morning. It was a great time. Warmup: One FNG in attendance invited by Malpractice, so gave the disclaimer and then we were off for a little jog through Bond Park to another parking lot. [Read More]

The Dirty Dozen

Six HIM showed up for the Kitty-less #meowmile. Well, five showed up to run, one accidentally showed up early and joined us just to be friendly. And at the turn-around Kitty made a cameo to say Hello When we returned our numbers had doubled to an even Dirty Dozen. Perfect for partnering up. Warm-Up Hustle around the back of the church and circle up in the tire shop parking lot for side straddle hops, imperial walkers, merkins, plank jacks and Sir Fazio arm twirlies. [Read More]
