Goonies Never Say Die!!!!

24 PAX gathered at their friennd Mikey’s house on Monday morning for the usual hang out, but that’s when everything changed. We got the news that evil fat cat developers were buying land and planning on tearing down our houses to build a golf course…bummer. This group of misfits started the day with the pledge and a quick jaunt around the pickle. Circled up on the basketball courts. The Walsh family is always so accommodating and polite, so of course we start with Good Mornings. [Read More]

Same Same, But Different

A lovely morning for a workout! We have been truly blessed the last three days with some fabulous weather!!! Roughly 60 degrees this morning, with pretty high humidity. The preblast indicated this would not be a Blue Ridge Relay training workout and while there WOULD be running, it would not be a run-centric workout. Turns out, we still managed a little over three miles…… Bayonne, Biner, PBX, and I met for some EC hill repeats at 5:45 and ran a little over 30 minutes on the High House hill, joined about 3/4 into the run by Snots and Chipper. F3-Its A Sickness

2 Years of F3. It’s a sickness that I just can’t seem to kick. One that has resulted in lack of sleep, frequent muscle aches, and lack of cell phone battery. I just can’t stop setting my alarm in anticipation of that brotherhood, the laughs, and personal growth. 2 years of F3 is something to be celebrated. What better way to celebrate than pain. Warm-up Welcome the Meow-Mile Pax Mosey over to the bank and circle up SSH IC X 25 GM IC X 10 Imperial Walker X 15 Standard Merkin mixture of slow cadence with normal cadence x 20 [Read More]

I'll Have the Bradford's Ordinary; 86 Callahan; Sub Burt

This BB is generally what we did this am…some stuff is out of order and other info is made up. But I wrote a BB. Tank Top Thursday. Bag O’ Tanks in the House. 73 degrees, 92% Humidity, No Wind. Clear. 20 dudes in the lot, including Wonk, the other GodFather of CarPex along with CK (not Captain Kirk…although we now see Captain more than CK…maybe CK needs a ride). Nice to see you Wonk. Stop #3 on The Pain Stick Express

So when Build-A-Bear messaged me on Monday to “ask” me to incorporate the pain sticks into my Q on Wednesday, of course I said yes. You’ve seen him right? So with my original workout put back on the shelf for another day, I started drawing up some new plans. Big group this morning of Insomniacs, Vesperers and SNSers. The boot campers broke off and headed toward the community center to find the afore mentioned pain sticks waiting for them. [Read More]

The Mile of Pain

YHC just Q’d Wolverine a couple weeks ago and wouldn’t normally pick it up again so quickly, but another PAX needed a favor, and I’m always one to help! It’s getting close to BRR time, and hills are always welcome, right? (RIGHT?!) A plan began to formulate….. 15 Pax met in the gloomiest of Carpex AO’s for a relatively cool, yet predictably humid morning. Perhaps that MONSTER thunderstorm that rolled through at 12:30am had something to do with it…. Everyone Remembers Their First Merlot

It had been a while. I mean, I have made my semi-regular appearances at BO this past year. but it had been a while since I’d Q’d there. It had been a while since I’d Q’d anywhere. So as I started to fill up the empty googly slots, it was fitting that YHC start at the birthplace of Ma Bell. Anyway, enough history. YHC was feeling like putting the hurt on some PAX today. Zen Zen Flex Again

17 HIM descended upon Phoenix for what YHC promised would be a very limited run workout, with a heavy dose of flexibility. We had 1 FNG, Liam from New Jersey, so a thorough and complete disclaimer was in order. Apparently YHC got a little bit loquacious, prompting Callahan to point to his watch, “6:31” and an indignant look of “let’s get on with it” on his face. So off we went. [Read More]

Thank You For Your Leadership

Sometimes jokes get out of hand. Like the way we all say “Thank you for your leadership” whether we’re being sincere or being silly. It was all grins and giggles until Hello Kitty announced that he was going to be on the radio taking part in a serious discussion about school choice in this great state of ours. Shut-in just had to say it. “If you fit in a TYFYL I’ll give you 100 burpees. [Read More]
