ABC, Easy as 1-2-3, Simple as Do-Re-Mi

With expectations high for a sophomore Q and accompanying backblast, I opted for a simple schoolhouse theme in honor of the Hot for Teacher AO. A lovely, moonbright, 40-degree morning for a workout. Again, lots of ECers and although I was not one of them, I did show up a bit earlier to check off the Carpex Core Challenge, courtesy of Prodigal. Warmup Trick mosey, then: Side-straddle hop IC 15-count. Imperial walkers IC 15-count. [Read More]

Moving on to Plan E

Have I told you how sick I am of cold, rainy weather? Luckily today we were expecting highs to get into the 60s. With sunshine. WITH SUNSHINE!!! However this morning, it was still 30s and the ground was wet from rain we’ve had in the past 1,231 hours. Six for EC run of about 3 miles. Return to the flag, and I initially thought I was in the wrong place. Maybe I should post at DTP a little more often - apparently it’s now the place to be in Downtown Apex on Tuesdays at 0530. Clockwork VQ at the Wild Wild West

My first post was at Lion’s Den on a Wednesday the week before Thanksgiving 2020, so I’ve been at F3 for a little over 3 months…and with 3 Q school sessions under my belt (shout-outs to Ma Bell, Disco Duck, and Red Ryder), I guess it was about time I tried my hand at Qing. Arrival and warmup When your Nantan pre-blasts a VQ, I guess 19 guys (and 1 canine) show up to set a new site record, even on a 33-degree Monday morning with chance of rain. [Read More]

12 Days of Schlitz-mas part deux

YHC had wanted to Q his home site at some point in the next few weeks. After 15 miles at Oakwood 24 over the weekend I was only 4 miles short of 1000 miles for the year. I didn’t want to leave it to chance so I jumped on the Q sheet to make sure I got enough mileage to hit 1k. Well, it’s Christmas week so why not pull back out last year’s FMJ 12 Days of Christmas. Boy Band Tour 2020

Some call it a shield lock. When a group of HIMs connect and strengthen their relationships through accountability, both in F3 and in life, and push each other to be stronger and better in all phases – physical, mental, social and emotional – again, in F3 and in life. Sometimes these shield locks form as a result of F3 and its ability to bring like-minded, positive HIMs together that want to be pushed and held accountable. [Read More]

Merkin Fest

School was back in session on Thursday, and 13 lucky pax made it out to gloom for the beatdown! With about 15 minutes till the start a few pax came in from their EC run, and 1 pax came in hot with a few seconds to spare. So with that the disclaimer was given, the pledge was recited and we were off running a lap around the parking lot! Warm Up: [Read More]

Once more unto the breach

Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more; For here at A-team were we once infected. Twas but a week (maybe more) ago whence we learned Of the ill-will brought upon us by a virus from lands afar. This morn was no celebration. No anniversary. It was merely an opportunity to Q - Nay, to Lead! For A-team is an OG site. One of the first. And such is the spirit of A-team that one must show [Read More]

Vanilla or Spicy?

That was the question leading into this Q. Was this going to a plain vanilla standard bootcamp or will I think of something spicy to throw at the Pax. Let’s wait to answer this at the end. FNG was present so standard disclaimer given to also include social distancing and avoidance of fist bumps. And we’re off. Mosey up the hill and over to the basketball court for warmups. Also included the first 5 reps of Jack Webb. [Read More]

"Grundel to the Ground"

Well its both hard to believe its only been a year and hard to believe a year has gone by. Having been while since I’ve Q’d, I decided to pick up Dante’s Peak for my F3 Anniversary. I arrived a little early to sort out and finalize my plans with a short EC around the site getting in a few pull-ups and scaring something that sounded larger than it should have been in the woods by the amphitheater (or did it scare me?
