I couldn't think of a good title

YHC signed up to Q this morning to ensure accountability to show up after a few days of solid fartsacking. After a fiasco of finding parking, YHC ran up to where the flag should have been at 5:44. After a quick pledge, we split the strong group of 16 between YHC and Earhart. This is what the Sooey Crew accomplished. Gorillas in the Gloom

Sitting on the can this morning about the time the Back in Black boys were stepping out of their cars into the gloom, I am not ashamed to admit that a certain thought crossed my mind: ”Why in the hell did I pick today to Q?” After two months out of the gloom, it’s a bit easy to get soft. Not just muscle soft or calluses soft but mentally soft. Examples? [Read More]

Shawshank

So it was pouring cats and dogs and with 2 minutes to go it was just the Captain and I. The plan was set…..get a little wet, take a quick selfie and call it a day. In a moments notice 3 HIMs came in on 2 wheels and foiled any thoughts of an early breakfast. We had a choice…..be some men and head for the great wide open and take on the rain, or head towards some form of coverage (although it was a good jog away). [Read More]

Talking Myst in the Mist

Picking up and hanging with Capt Kirk is always a treat. He is a mumblechatter master. Put him in a workout together with Horatio and you have F3 Gold. Such it was this afternoon at RushHour. A fine mist (more on this in a bit) hung in the air as I called up the dear Captain to make sure he was indeed up for a DTC beatdown. Come 1740, as I pull up to his house, Kirk is on the phone with a friend (that infamous one-hit-wonder Spock, it turns out) lamenting the fact that it’s raining. [Read More]

RESPECT

This Guy! Largemouth, Denali and Wonderbread for some EC laps around the AO. Today is a perfect example of never giving up on your dreams. I’ve waited for this day for 50 years and it finally happened. You see kids…. Great group of defiant HIM this morning for an early rollout of Phase 2. We ran, circled up, and celebrated the day of my birth with 5 Good Mornings; 19 Steve Earles; and 70 (IC) SSH. [Read More]

Measured to Perfection

NOTE TO COMS: Measure Twice is an AO. It deserves a category! Measure Twice had the unfortunate bad luck of officially launching just prior to pandemic-related lock-downs so it had not yet built up a healthy following before everything went by-by. But it’s a fantastic location with a clever concept. Since this is (I think) the first Measure Twice BB, here’s the concept: Measure Twice is a 60 minute work out. [Read More]

Burpees for Days

11 PAX joined YHC at Bond Park this morning for a great start to the weekend. It is good to see things returning to somewhat normal slowly after the last few weeks of staying home. YHC signed up to Q for accountability. If your name is on the Q sheet, theres a very high likelihood you will make it to the work out. After several weeks ‘off’ it is good to make sure you get up when the alarm goes off. [Read More]

From Sad Clown to Now...

So 2 years ago on this date, worked out at Rush Hour I followed that up with posting at BO and SWW, so I almost did the same to Celebrate, and adding Q’ing to finish out the week. We had 16 Pax so Hermes took the new pax off for a Q school and the remaining 9 Mosey’d to the lot by the shelter for Warm-up FNGs: None EC: Lookout, Chipper, Oofta, Staubach, Bluewater and Captian Jack [Read More]

No Squats, No Booty???

Apparently this is a thing? When Carpex was set to re-open for business this week, YHC figured he better get on the Q sheet this week. What better AO than Dazed and Confused? Then we realized that the gates remain locked at Apex High School so the decision was made to move to the site of A-Team right down the road. Where YHC Qed on Monday. Hey, at least it was fresh in the mind! [Read More]

Quiver's 2nd Year Anny - Heat 2 Q-School Theme

YHC (your humble correspondent) volunteered to take the overflow Q (leader) spot to maintain property Corn Teen (redneck for quarantine) protocol for Quiver’s 2-year anniversary Q. About 6 or 7 did an EC (extra credit) run. 16 were standing around more than 6-feet apart at 0545. Quiver led a Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag and we split up into 2 groups: The rookies and the legends. The rookies follow me. [Read More]
