It's Quarantine Day... Again

Getting back is hard, but making it out is rewarding! Today marks the 1-Year Anniversary to my affiliation with F3. For those who don’t know the story, Earhart had been working hard talking F3 up to me for years (he and I were part of the same Y-Guide Tribe.) I finally pulled the chord and decided to give it a try, after years of Treadmill running and T25 (I did a month of Camp Gladiator as it was free too. [Read More]

Backblast two-fer

Taking a page out of the high-tempo-ness of the two AOs to which this two-fer belongs and high-tempoing this mofo in one uninterrupted writing block. Clock. Starts. Now. 7:01PM start. Measured Thrice Location: TGM PAX: YHC, Parker, Snots, 1-4, Pivot, Skidmore (out of towner… sort of), Biner, Hi-Liter + Ruckers: Trike, Repeato + Pooch, Skipper Warm-up: Bring yo gloves. Detour

When Hanson asked for someone to step up and take his Q this morning YHC gladly accepted the challenge. The first detour was expected since it was well advertised that YHC would be the QIC. The next detour was caused by the locked gates. The site Q’s need to see someone about that since it was starting to be a regular occurrence. The third detour was YHC realized the field was locked. Block in Bloom

Fun fact: BiB may be the earliest AO in CARPEx but it barely holds a candle to the AOs outside of Charlotte where 0500 is the norm. Now, before you get all jealous about the three (or one) quarters of an hour they gain on us, there is a simple reason they start so early: Yup… traffic sucks in Charlotte. Like.. a lot. 5AM is about the only time you can get from point A to point B without points C… D… E… F… G… H… (you get the picture) getting in the way. [Read More]

Hard Launch of Tin2Iron … best non-running AO is Carpex

Date: 6/11/20 AO: Tin2Iron PAX: Ace (F3 Raleigh), Ausfarht, EarharT, Intimidator, Peaches (F3 Raleigh), Reentry, Shipper, Slash (F3 Raleigh), WWW, Yukon Cornelius (F3 Raleigh) I am so proud to announce the hard launch of this much needed non-running AO. How this all became is I wanted to start an AO and partner with Ausfarht to lead it. I approached him with my proposal and he was all about committing to it. [Read More]

100' from the pool and still drenched

The NC summer is officially here. How does one know? When you’re driving to an AO at 4:43 AM and your wipers are going but it’s not actually raining… it’s humid. And hot. And it was both of those today. [Editor’s note: as I was working on this BB, YHC noted that Cauliflower posted an eerily similar BB at the same time. You can read his masterpiece here: https://f3carpex.com/2020/06/10/summer-in-nc-almost/] EC: Called an EC run. [Read More]

A Walk To Remember

Like most guys whenever Orphan asks me to do something I always ask “Will Garfield be there?” Not because there is anything wrong with Orphan, he’s okay, mostly okay, but Garfield is just cool. I played a lot of sports as a kid (Madden Football, Blades of Steel, Mike Tyson’s Punch Out, and some Duck Hunt to stay well rounded) so that meant I had little time to pursue being cool. Summer in NC, almost

It has been almost 3 months, since my last Q at Rush Hour. Since starting in November 2019, I’ve not experienced summer workouts yet. As they say, it’s not the heat, but the humidity. I propose that workouts done when the “Feels like” temperature is over 90 degrees, count as two. At the end of Rush Hour, 87 degrees feels like 94. It is nice to be back. Two Minute warning, Pledge, Disclaimer, No FNG [Read More]

A hill 'o beans

Twice as many reps as beans in a can. Introduction For some reason Frisco’s pre-blast was reminiscing about the time he watched Casablanca whilst eating cold baked beans from a tin, washing them down with a cocktail of absinthe and Dr. Pepper. However, interesting fact, the workout I planned had approximately twice as many reps in it as there are beans in a standard can. So, remarkably on point. [Read More]

High Tempo Euphoria

18 came to workout, a day after a much needed slap on the old wrist from the Nant’an, so with that a heightened sense to get the Pax working out, but also spread ’em out a touch, YHC designed a high tempo beatdown with that in mind. High tempo warm-ups and lightening quick Good Mornings. Y’all need to chill about these Good Mornings. Hell, we can’t even count and do seal claps properly anymore. [Read More]
