Holy Sh*%! It's been a year!

What a crazy ass year it’s been! Thinking back to this time last year, I couldn’t have imagined that a few beers at Lowes Food with a bunch of dudes named Steve would have impacted me quite like it has. Chicken Little and Hamm had been working on me for months and I kept holding strong, sleeping in and making excuses. That was until Sooey had to go and buy me a beer – well, technically Schlitz gave me a free beer, but Sooey shelled out the dough for my second. [Read More]

Hills and Rock Music

Well, another great day with the Bounty Hunters is in the books! YHC made sure to get there early, as I had to set up for an elaborate plan I had working for the latter half of the beatdown. More on that later. Back at the starting point, the 4 pax doing the Apex Hill runs were already long gone, which brought the Pax number for the bootcamp to 11! Confirming there were no FNGs, we did the Pledge, and then we were off and running down Hunter St! [Read More]

0.99 and some Wildlife Rescue

YHC arrived at Sovereign Grace church for a little ECP. No one there, except for me and 3 young raccoons stuck in a dumpster in 6 inches of standing water. First, not sure how anyone within a quarter mile could sleep with those raccoons crying as loud as they were. I put my pullups on hold a bit to investigate, and then the PAX started to arrive. Being that I like to stay on task, we continued to discuss and troubleshoot the situation during the workout. [Read More]

How Quickly Things Change

YHC has been trying to find a good week to get on the Q sheet for Rush Hour. Over the weekend while camping, he was able to EH a buddy so after a dozen or so adult beverages he slapped his name on the sheet for this week. YHC had a fantastic theme and plan and had even done some recon earlier in the day. Things were all aligned until 4 minutes into the drive to the AO when the dark sky started to be illuminated with intermittent lightening bolts. [Read More]

No excuses

This week has been crazy. I am a day late in writing my backblast. Monday I found out one of my work friends died over the weekend. My volunteer work has picked up. Deadlines in my day job. And yet Crimson brought up the fact that Tortoises didn’t have a Q and I felt compelled to put my name on this Q sheet. I did not really plan the workout. I did not have the time to do it. Switch Back Training

Thanks to Wrench for the attempt at a video of who was in attendance. Amazingly, I was able to pretty quickly remember 13 of 14 PAX. The one that took me the longest to remember was…YHC. The Carpex Challenge quest continues this morning at Bradford’s Ordinary. I had posted here an entire 2 times previously, but I knew there was a giant parking deck, and what else do you really need than a water fountain, which we have that too! [Read More]

When Sargent Squatter Came to DZ

When I saw that Hello Kitty had to give up his Q spot at Danger Zone I jumped at the opportunity. It is a very exclusive spot and the application process is quite tough. I had been rejected twice, but if I pretended to be Hello Kitty someone would figure it out when the sun started to come up. But if I pretended to be Hello Kitty pretending to be me everyone would just think it was a great disguise. [Read More]

If I Can, You Can

YHC has made posting at Measure Twice a priority. I mean one 30 minute stretch session should fix me for the whole week, right? Every time I’ve been I’ve been impressed by the Q. And everytime I’ve been I’ve thought I’m MONTHS away from EVER Qing this site! Fast forward (or rewind I guess) to Sunday night. The empty Q slot was just calling my name and saying, “Do it. Doesn’t matter if you don’t think you can. [Read More]

Rockin' Double Trouble
