Decades Day 1: Sunday Slowzy 20's/30's

YHC first posted at F3 on March 6 2020 at Gran Torino, EH’d by good buddy Torpedo. Fast forward to 2022 as mask mandates are easing and the weather is getting warmer, it felt like a perfect time to challenge myself and Q all week. The idea of a “Decades” music themed series of workouts has been in my mind for awhile, so I grabbed slots on each day. Inspired by the “8 pack” box in the Carpex Challenge, I reached out to Sooey for interest in a “Super Slowzy” to ease into the week. [Read More]

You never forget your first

Steaks said there were no Beaver Chase backblasts and someone needed to write one. Well, I accepted the challenge and will take my place in Carpex history on Wordpress as the writer of the very first Beaver Chase backblast! As I drove in this morning, I got stuck at a light after trying to stretch out before I left…cutting it close! I got there with 3 minutes to spare but Mandolin was already sending me texts to make sure I was there. [Read More]

What Picking Up the Six Looks Like

This phrase gets tossed around quite a bit in F3 - “We need to look out for the six, Remember the six, Pick up the six, etc. But what does it actually look like…in action? What I witnessed this past weekend was as literal as it gets and it’s worth sharing. Rewind about a year or so. My wife tells me a guy from her high school has Facebook messaged her desperate for money. [Read More]

Dora Got Nothing on Jeff 1-2-3-4

Preamble Per usual, planning the Q started sometime after dinner and finalized before going to bed. YHC drifted off to a sound sleep with a smile my face. The smile continued as I woke up (I mean, at my age every day above ground is a blessed one), through my morning deuce/wordle/stretching routine, and on the drive to Bond Park. 40 seconds prior to launch, YHC flawlessly recited and enunciated the F3 Mission. 3 rounds with Jack Webb is the Valentine's Day Challenge

11 HIMs or maybe it’s HIDAs came together in sub-freezing temps (24 degrees F). The beauty of the cold brisk morning was no ice. 0530 hrs struck and it was time to get these men warmed up after our pledge to Old Glory. Runners do two laps around the pickle and walkers do one meeting at the top of the parking lot circle for some warm-up. Once those muscles are warm, QIC explained the thangs. [Read More]

All You Can Do Is Laugh

Last night as I was debating with myself where to post, I noticed Denali was Qing Kryptonite, I figured the rest of the Beige Bros would be there and I owed Wonderbread a shirt. So after the Superbowl, I set my alarm accordingly and hit the rack. The morning started off normally enough. Alarm goes off, I head to the toilet for my morning deuce and pull up Wordle - just like every American, only maybe a little earlier than most. [Read More]

7 is the number

9 HIMs converged at Downtown Cary flag poles near the Cary PD looking for some good fellowship beatdown. The bell tolled 18:00 hrs. No FNGs. We cited the mission, 5 core principles, and credo. We pledged our allegiance to Old Glory and off we went in the direction of the parking deck. Runner hit the stairs to the top and mosey down to level 1. Walkers walk to lower deck (no stairs). Promises of a Summer Body

Upon checking the Q sheet, YHC noticed no one grabbed Hells Bells. As Site Q, I could’ve pushed this to another PAX member but decided to step up and grab it. I’m still working on organizing a workout without the assistance of a winkie. Arriving at Cornerstone I noticed it was raining, I didn’t check the weather so whatever, gloomy is fine by my standards. Pulling out the bells the PAX started rolling in at 0520. [Read More]

2017 was 5 years ago?

It is hard to believe that 2017 was 5 years ago but alas here we are celebrating my 5 years of doing this thing we call F3. I am still not sure why I started in January since I really do not like cold but so glad I decided to join Crimson all those years ago. A little known fact is I did not start posting regularly until early March 2017 frequently using the too cold excuse. [Read More]

Tin2Iron Cluster Q

1/27/2022 No Q to start the workout so YHC took control and called out the cluster Q format. Each HIM will think about 2 exercises and will lead it for the amount of reps they liked to reach. 5 HIMs braved the cold but it was glorious. Ausfahrt made the call to grab pavers so we obliged. YHC: Called a mosey around the pickle and we warmed up using the pavers, Alleluias, curls, and tricep extensions. [Read More]
