Just a bunch of Divas at Claymore

32 days between posts built a lot of pressure up to make my VQ legit. I’m biting off Qs every day for the next week and wanted to start it off the right way. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t excited to get back to work with the boys (insert TOP GUN volleyball scene gif “here”). All I could hope for today were motivated HIMs, great weather, no car trouble, and some exhausted looks at the end of the workout…of those wishes, at least I got some beautiful foggy/muggy weather to work with! Pre-measure... then measure twice

Looking up stretches and yoga exercises last night, I realized that more “experts” (read: Runners World and similar publications) suggest that one should stretch BEFORE a run as much as AFTER. Yes with Measure Twice (and pretty much all other F3 workouts) what little stretching happens, happens after. Sure, there may be some SSH and GM’s for a warm up, but with most of the Hi-Tempo and Running workouts, that’s a rarity. [Read More]

A little bit of VENOM

Date: 8/24/2020 QIC: Bartman YHC was happy to grab a Q spot at Hell’s Bells, and even happier to stumble upon some inspiration for the workout on the facetubes. F3 Little Spoon posted a quick “while your M is off doing top secret bond girl stuff” workout, and while clearly his lifestyle is not typical suburbia, it sounded like a good “while your M is yelling at the kids to get out of bed” material. Hemlock Bluffs Blair Witch

Several for extra credit, and 20 were there for the main event. No respects. We ran down the trail past the SWW turn and then crossed the creek into the woods and onto the Hemlock Bluffs trail. We ran all the trails in Hemlock Bluffs (well, almost all). Then we ran home. We did some push ups and squats and things along the way while waiting for the 6 to catch up. [Read More]

Heaven is a Halfpipe

This backblast is a little late coming as it is from my birthday Q on 8/20, but as you get older you tend to forget things. Any way, as most are aware it’s BRR season and another HIM suggested those of us running the BRR should be sure to take all the open Q slots for BRR inspired workouts. Well, one of my typical training routes goes right through HFT and from the light at Olive Chapel and Kelly Road to Kelly at Beaver Creek Commons appeared to be the perfect “halfpipe” if you will. Writing Workout Checks My Body Can Cash

I have been doing F3 for almost three years so how hard could it be to put together a workout? I have a sack of patio pavers looking for something to do which makes a great prop for a limited run workout. What could go wrong? Well, perhaps a 6 month hiatus from posting should have given me a clue that the workout I put together was ambitious. While I didn’t want to sit around a drum circle and share our feelings, maybe we didn’t have to do this. Tank Tops are Easy

Like all Thursdays, I woke up and grabbed my Pineapple tank top (it’s a real crowd pleaser) and headed out the door. As you know, Carpex Thursdays are of the tank top variety and in these peak heat and humid North Carolina mornings, they’re the next best thing to going full Headroom and rocking nips out. I rolled up to the flag early and was pumped to see HIM after HIM stroll in rocking their tank tops too. [Read More]
