Blimps at FOD!

With all the BRR festivities, the Q sheet was looking a little empty a few days ago so YHC decided to grab the open spot at the original West Cary workout location, Thomas Brooks Park. In 2017 there were two Tuesday options. Only two. And the other site (FWD) is basically in south Raleigh so YHC and Crimson were FOD regulars. Today was great weather, the humidity was manageable and a great group of PAX joined together for a wonderful start to the morning. [Read More]

Forgotten blackblast

** AUGUST 28 ** YHC Q last Friday at DAC. That was almost a week ago, but here goes! Group of 8 PAX gathered at Apex Community Park eagerly anticipating a Sooey Q (hey it was last week!). YHC forgot the Pledge, there was no flag. And we were off at 5:30 sharp. Mosey to the normal warm up spot for some warm up. Mosey to the large shelter for a routine of Step ups, Urkins, and Dips. OT

Imma gonna keep this one short. Why? Because the real thing went loooooooong. By a fair amount. Like, Saban setting s#!% on fire long. YHC arrived at FC a bit ahead of time and got some laps around the track in. No Sky Blue so no records were set but it was a nice mosey around the loop. Get back to the flag to see some old faces and some new ones. [Read More]

Stroll around downtown

This morning 15 PAX met at Hunter Street Park for various festivities. Group 1 of 10 PAX took a stroll to downtown with YHC, Group 2 of 2 completed this week’s IronPAX challenge and Group 3 completed a bruisers workout on the soccer field. We also found another group of 2 that completed the happy Dino in prep of the BRR coming soon. At 5:30 sharp, a quick pledge and we were off towards the chamber of commerce, home of DTP on Tuesday. Stuck between a rock and a hard place

OK, so the Apex PAX (A-PAX for short) are clearly more smarter, better looking, and enjoyable to workout with than the Cary (basically Durham) PAX (CAR-PAthetiX for short but not really). I rolled out my new Dora et Trois concept again in today’s DP Gloom and they took to it like moths to a flame. It definitely had nothing to do with my ability to explain the workout, or an arguably better setup at DP than at Whoville earlier this week. [Read More]

Nice Cool Fountain Water

Well, another Tuesday night has come and gone just that fast. Which meant the finest and only evening AO in Carpex took place. This week, though only 5 pax posted, YHC was thrilled to have a variety of guys who showed up for the beatdown, as far as their their presence at Rush Hour is concerned. We had two familiar faces with Press On and his (fur) 2.0, Briefs. We had a first time RH post from Entitlement, and we also saw the return of the one and only Disco Duck! [Read More]

Some Kettle Bells are made of Tin2Iron

The PAX didn’t know they were posting for Hell’s Bells 2.0 in the Gloom this morning, which made the surprise all the more worth it! Tin2Iron is a difficult workout to plan due to the no running rule. As a Q, you want a good, hard workout with plenty of sweat…so my choice for getting hearts pumping was a massive amount of kettle bell swings! Fun times were had, here’s the workout: [Read More]

Horton hears a...Who understood what Tang just said?

Day 2 of Tang’s Return Tour resulted in sweat angels, confusion, and Bolton nearly dying. We had 10 PAX post, mostly all between 0528-0530, so I was pretty nervous for awhile about working out alone…I had a month of that in Cali and wasn’t about to repeat again. Nevertheless, the PAX rolled in, and after a few intros we set off. Bolton wasn’t sure at first about rucking or bootcamping, but he was persuaded to be our 9th camper…a decision he voiced many times that he regretted throughout the workout. [Read More]

Not to disappoint...

Beige I get a little anxious when it comes to Qing “High Tempo” workouts. Will I get enough miles in? There’s a certain group of Pax among us that expect a certain mileage minimum for such workouts. But will there be enough variety for the rest of the Pax? Well, I attempted to come up with a plan that would appease all, but wouldn’t you know it, at 0530 that certain group was nowhere to be found anyway. [Read More]

OCD is no laughing matter

Aside: Kudos to BRR Team COT on the Quaranteam concept. T-CEPS, even. Driving to #DTP this morning around 5:15, I see one car after another turning in to David Dr Park. “Man, that’s a lot of cars for a team of 12”, thought I. Found out later that a massive run club meets at Wolverine on Tuesday mornings as well. LOL. So much for social distancing… :) But seriously, great initiative. [Read More]
