Masked Men in the Fog

6 of the usual #ao-carpex-maskers-of-the-universe PAX showed up this foggy morning. The shovel flag was planted where the usual Point Break pitchfork flag is placed, but the island didn’t seem to mind. Teen-drive Ashbury thought about doing donuts, but decided to park at the far end of the lot instead. No FNGs, said the pledge, then moseyed down the road to the parking lot home of the essential worker in the small blue sedan that shows up to work before 5:30AM every day. [Read More]

That's No Moon!

9 Pax made it out to the gloom to get their beatdown on for day! YHC got there a little early to set up for the ME, which I knew was gonna suck ever since I found it on the Exicon. (In a good way of course). When the time came the disclaimer was given, the Pledge was recited, and we were on our way to the other parking lot around the corner for the warm up! [Read More]

Almost Official

7 PAX joined YHC for the soft launch of the first official Saturday AO in Apex! It was a bit chilly, fall is definitely coming soon. At 6:30 we were off towards the flag pole since we didn’t have our shovel flag ready. After a short mosey, disclaimers, and pledge we were ready to roll! Warm Up: Mosey over to the baseball field parking lot for: SSH Good Morning (Crimson style, best comedy routine of the morning) Windmills Merkinis (10 OYO) Mountain Climbers Imperial Walkers Things 1: [Read More]

An ode to ConPAINment Area

Friday’s workout at DZ was supposed to have been Q’d by Mr. Original, the one, the first, the only, Louis CK. Unfortunately he wasn’t able to come out which leaves us only a couple of weeks before The Godfather of Raleigh and Founder of CARPEx takes his leave from NC. Hopefully he’ll be back soon. In the meantime, the workout turned out to be more of an ode to the ConPAINment Area, including a throw back to a couple early BB from Cary. [Read More]

The Jazz Tones of Ragnarok

Thorsday’s hard launch of AO Ragnarok started off with the mellow tones of a local band. This was an absolute treat, folks, as they were quite good and we could hear them through most of the workout. I attached a short video of their practice to the 1F and MC channels on Slack for those who want to listen in…or you could just post next week and we’ll see if they come back! [Read More]

Angst rock

Low mileage workouts are not usually my thing. And Qing them especially not. But that’s the fun bit about the CARPEx Challenge. You get to push boundaries and explore new things. This was probably the Q I prepped for more than most recent ones. My main goal was to keep the running to 0 so lots of time to fill. Hope the boys enjoyed. EC: Went for a little run beforehand. Feels Like NASCAR

It was indeed a great day to get up and workout in the early morning gloom! It was also YHC’s first time of leading a high tempo beatdown. So I had been looking forward to that, as well as receiving an FMJ camo koozie at the end, I’m not gonna lie! So after everyone arrived and stretched out: the runners came in, YHC gave the disclaimer, led the Pledge, and we were off! [Read More]

The other 7 mosey around the front of the school and back to the basketball court… Warm Up 5 Good Mornings 40 SSH 30 Imperial Walkers 20 Sir Fazio F bigger R Bigger [Read More]

2 BLIMPS are Better than 1

The day was Oct. 8, 2020, a day when the weather probably should have been a lot colder than it was. I have to keep reminding myself though that we live in NC, and thats just normal. But it was great workout weather, so nobody was complaining. It was also the day that 9 pax gathered at Koka Booth for the earliest boot camp in Carpex! YHC was the first one there, which I’m not really use to, and as the time drew closer my brain was starting to wonder if they moved the spot to another parking area or something. [Read More]
