Agility City (and Nose Breathing)

Seriously, Gran Torino has gone to pot. Remember when some of the PAX joked on Slack that DangerZone needed an overhaul. “Make DZ Great Again”, the PAX said. But it was a joke. Gran Turdino is in a downward spiral. For real. It’s out of whack and in need of repair. In short, they needed me to Make GT Great Again, and that’s exactly what I did. Honestly, I didn’t realize how whack Gran Turdino had become. [Read More]

Consistently DZ

There has been one constant in 2021 for YHC - DZ on Fridays with Saban. 3 for 3 so far! What better way to celebrate by hosting a classic DZ beatdown - no need to travel super far for this one. Gather up, no FNG, and also no Flag, so no Pledge. Disclaimer, Mission, Follow Me! Leave the park, take two lefts, and down Cary Parkway. Back into the park via the South entrance to the foot of bear crawl bridge. [Read More]

Catching Largemouth

Last night, the Q slot for BiB opened up, so YHC volunteered to take the helm. I remembered a nearby segment from last year’s Hill Climb Challenge, so I built the workout around that. 15 total Pax today, including one FNG. TClaps to Farm Aid and Useful Engine for bringing out a friend. Thing Mosey around the lake. Warm-up: I called some unusual stuff that Build-a-Bear didn’t love. Pearls on a String Mosey through the greenway to Glade Park Road. [Read More]

Dad Loves You - Now Do Those Freakin' Burpees!

Arrived at the flag at about 7:56 after a really good breakfast for dinner. You ever have breakfast for dinner? That is THE BEST. However, the ice cream sandwich after was prolly a little over the top, and YHC will regret that later. Warm Up Two laps around the pickle. Circle up for SSHs, Steve Earles, Sir Fazio arm circles, Runners stretch, calf stretch, merkins x 50 The Thang Mosey to the end of the tennis courts. [Read More]

The Pain of Victory

YHC generally likes to plan a pattern or theme to Q’s to aid in poor memory and develop some flow within the workout. Today’s inspiration cam from Monday nights College Football National Championship game. A high scoring game with some ok decently suited acronyms laid the ground work for an Q. But I couldn’t remember the order of scoring and TD vs FG so I arrived at Hot for Teacher a little early with some sidewalk chalk in hand to sketch out my weinke along the path. [Read More]

May the 40s Be With You

To be honest the last thing I wanted to do today was get-up and workout. It was 28 degrees and I hate the cold. I have seen a lot of HIMs Q for their birthday so I jumped on the opportunity. I enjoy workouts that keep your heart rate up and build muscle and that was today’s goal. Exhaust the muscles to build the muscle. 5:30 hard start. No FNGs. First item on deck was the Pledge of Allegiance then onto a quick warm-up. [Read More]

FOD Old Timers Club

You know what we did and all of you are old timers as Beaker noted in Slack. Those that didn’t attend don’t need to know the details, but here is a summary: 4 corners throughout the park. Run, chest and shoulders, run, core, run, legs, run, practice what we learned. NMS Only Beaker kept this from being 100% respect Franklin convinced me to get there early to start with FOD run club and get in a 2-mile EC before the workout. [Read More]

Shutty's Ladder

YHC had an amazing beatdown planned for the tennis courts of Claymore this morning, but overnight rains left the courts way too slippery. So instead the boys of Carpex got this. Warm-Up Mosey around the pickle to the rock pile and circle up for Imperial Walkers, Sir Fazios, cherry pickers, and the opposite of copperhead merkins (name TBD). The Thang Grab a travelling rock from the rock pile for travelling rock sevens. [Read More]

The Minimalist

Semiannual-ish visit to FWD. Warm Up Jog around the park circle and back to the flag. Warm up of SSHs, Sir Fazio arm circles, Steve Earles, Runners stretch and calf stretch. Merkins x 50 The Thang Mosey to my favorite church parking lot. 11s the length of the lot, which is up and down the hill. Burpees at the top, jump squats at the bottom. Finish with the six, do 25 standard merkins. [Read More]
