No Mamby Pamby Here

On a rare weekend at home, Earhart put out the call there was no Q for Piranha Park. YHC quickly snapped it up. EC and pain options abound at Apex Nature Park, even though the AO has to start so late to allow Cheddar Bo Jr the chance to unlock the cot dang gate. Anyway, remembering an OTB EC run we did a few months ago in from Vicious Fishes then back again afterward, I decided to resurrect it. [Read More]

Off The Disco Rails

Though I really wanted to celebrate Disco Duck’s Respect Q, I had already committed to Q’ing OTR on this fine foggy morning. 10 others joined YHC for bunch of thangs with mediocre mumble chatter so I was told. With no FNGs present, we started with the Pledge of Allegiance. Mozy to parking lot for warm ups Good mornings seal claps sir fazios forward and backwards Seal Claps/Overhead claps Imperial walkers side stradle hops Thang 1: Partner up for Dora. [Read More]

Pounding The Pickle at DZ

I leave the house with a little concern that lightning may eliminate this workout, but once again the weather cooperates and provides a nice workout window. Saban even does an EC run to try to draw any leftover lightning bolts to keep the rest of us safe. It is beautifully warm. I have never been on Q at DZ. When Bagels and I were pacing Banjo on the MST 100 last weekend he told us that once upon a time DZ was the only active AO in Cary. [Read More]

Lowe's vs Sweetwaters

16 PAX, one FNG, disclaimer given privately, perfect weather and we are off. Mosey to a very unsafe place to warm up (sorry Shutty) SSH, Sir Fazios, Good Mornings, Seal Claps and Mountain Climbers Head to newly opened Lowe’s Grocery stopping at each light pole for increasing merkins starting from 1 and getting to 10 Christen the parking lot with a 4-man double pickle Indigenous People Run (IPR). During each lap, one of the 4 will remain in place doing an exercise, until all 4 have taken their turn. [Read More]

Cindy Lou Rides the Pain Train

I roll out of bed this morning to the sound of fairly substantial rain. I immediately ping my bookie to go heavy on the under for today’s 150 Carpex attendance target. But by the time I arrive at Whoville the rain has cleared, and we are left with a warm and glorious morning. Clementine rolls in 90 seconds early, which seems to stun the Whoville regulars. On a side note, I am not sure if Clementine’s Hasselhoff banana hammock infinite loop pre-blast is one of the greatest things I have ever seen or one of the most disturbing. It was only 7 minutes...

I’ve been enjoying the “limited” run bootcamps – Tortoises, Tin-2-Iron, Hells Bells – as I need to limit my miles while still getting out with you men. Was thinking of something new to try & decided to give it a go with the men of Tortoises this very gloomy but warm morning. Here’s how it went down ….. The gathering: My GBB & wheelman today, Flacco & I came into the lot hot as our little neighborhood carpool hit a snag kind of like a container ship in a canal. [Read More]

Things Were Meant to be Carried

Another glorious night in DTC, ok, it was gloomy and misty. It had been awhile since my last Q. I have been working on this idea for awhile. I arrived early to set up and Old Maid was already on his way out for an EC run, 4+ miles. 4 other did a EC around the ToC campus. Red Ryder let me know of a possible FNG he was bringing. I was nervous, since I had never Q’d when we had an FNG. [Read More]

Records are meant to be broken

As YHC has not attending a workout at Claymore more than a handful of times, he along with One Direction forgot its a 5:45 start. That being said a few warm up laps around parking lot killed the extra time. Beginning at 5:45, I a call for FNGS was made with no reply. With no flag in site.. we mozy’d pickle as then a site-q arrived with a flag. Stopped for pledge and then continued to other parking lot for warmups [Read More]

Doras in the North

Here is a confession - I didn’t actually watch Game of Thrones until 2020. So I didn’t even know what Winterfell meant for a long time. I just knew it was somewhere near Virginia. But I am fired up to be Warden of the North for 45 minutes. My initial observation upon arrival is that it is actually colder here than when I departed South Cary. 9 are on time for the 0530 start. The Leprechaun is Undefeated

The morning after St. Patrick’s Day. YHC had some (i.e. too much) English gin and American beer yesterday, but it was all done for the glory of Ireland. Time to sweat it out. It is a foggy morning with a light mist, but temps are perfect at the Circus. 3 EC runners join 8 others for the start. At this point I have been on Q for 3 workouts in the last 6 days, and Ma Bell has been at every one of them.
