More miles please?

With the weather being a pleasant 48f this AM, 17 of Carpex’s finest came out in the gloom. Some appeared eager and did an EC, others didn’t. I am not one to judge, rather my purpose this morning was to Q. Let’s do this. Starting with: Pledge of allegiance Mozy to parking lot for warmups consisting of: Good mornings Seal claps Overhead claps Sir fazio arm circles Side stradle hops Mozy to top of trail path Thang 1: 7’s Plank Jacks & Sumo Squats Mozy past lake to parking lot [Read More]

Speedwork. Loop de LOOM (has wheels)

Several trips around the pickle to warmup. Backwards, side skip, karaoke, regular then warmup This idea is from F3 Lehigh Valley’s UPTOWN GIRL to work on speedwork. Break into groups of 2 groups of 3. On Davis Drive, each group jogs two lights poles while 1 member of group AYG to second light pole, returned to pax and continue to second pole. At pole, 10 leg kick Merkins*. Repeato till Waldo Rood Rd. [Read More]

4 corners and 7s at the basketball court, busting the Nantanogram bracket

The biggest April Fools I had today was the weather, treating us all to one last dose of winter. We needed 44 HIMs to show up to reach the Nantan success metric of 100…we made one of those digits, despite my recruiting efforts beforehand at the AAZ. Warm up Mosey with some backwards, forwards, and karaoke strides to the Basketball court in honor of the close of March madness season. [Read More]

Absence makes the heart grow fonder

I firmly believe in the saying that “absence makes the heart grow fonder” as I really missed y’all while being out West with no F3 in sight for 5 days. Even coming back out to Q and having the cold didn’t deter me in the least, as a matter of fact made it better IMO. With No FNGS we started with The Pledge Mozy’d up hill around park and down to the bb court. Don't call Bulgarian Splits Squats with Steaks in the house....

You’ll have to keep reading to find out why the title is what it is! Good news for you is that this will be a quick read! A thin crowd was coming together for F3 as the FIA ladies collected – they outnumbered us by 3 or 4X! I guess the spring break excuse only applies to the men of F3…. ’nouf said. 6 men started the session with our mission & the pledge. [Read More]

this is the year

HAPPY OPENING DAY! We made it through another baseball offseason. And through another Q1. And through another gloomy gloomy winter. We got some sprinkles this morning, and I don’t think we cracked 50deg, but it was glorious nonetheless. Here’s what we did… Gather up, and oh snap, Bayonne’s here!! Awesome to see you back, man. 9 others rolled up including 2 via EC. Burt swaps his Dodgers jersey for a tank top, and I don my Matt Harvey jersey for potentially the last time. [Read More]

To Go Where No PAX Has Gone Before

It’s probably because of spring break week. Yes, definitely spring break. Lot’s of people out of town. But could it be the weather? Less likely but possible. I know some of the Carpex PAX have been, shall I say, a bit disappointed in the lack of resilience from their brothers when it comes to posting in less-than-ideal weather. Could it be ME? Could YHC be the reason for the low numbers this morning at the premier 0530 start, standard boot camp at Olive Chapel Elementary school? [Read More]

Rock around the Clock at the Big, Long Scottish Sword

A fine, forty-degree morning to Q what Frisco had told me was Carpex’s newest Tuesday AO, called Big, Long Scottish Sword. Apparently, site tradition holds that only one Site Q may preside at a time, today being the Thane of Pickles, and you have to imagine the flag. No FNGs, so let’s get to work. Warm up Backwards walk, high knee walk, and karaoke walk to the roundabout parking lot. [Read More]

A-Team GBBs!

Super excited to Q at A-Team this morning – it’s one of my favorite sites and is always loaded with High Impact Men. Speaking of HIM, @petsounds was there! So great to see him back in the gloom! Bootcamp-wise, I felt like trying something new – here’s what went down…. 15 total pax, 9 bootcampers, the remainers bruising/walking + 4 legged Manny! Pledge of course! Then mosey straight into the park to the top of the powerline hill for warm-up: good morning, windmill, hill-billy, mtn climbers, merkins, etc. [Read More]

Expanding The Nares

YHC drove all around Koka Booth looking for the F3 Carpex workout site known as Kryptonite. Couldn’t find it. No Shovel Flag in site. Finally saw some EC runners, so followed them to the Kryptonite parking lot. No Shovel Flag. No site Qs. Definitely felt like an F3 Raleigh site. That is until YHC opened his car door: door was hardly ajar when Largemouth and Hermes started talking smack to YHC. [Read More]
