You Can't Spell Burpee Without Bob Seger

Another moist morning in Carpex, and Open Concept has brought us an FNG named Tom. Give him the disclaimer, turn on some Bob Seger and let’s get started. Warm-Up It’s Tin2Iron and we can’t mosey, so circle up and do five burpees to reduce the chatter, Sir Fazios, more burpees to welcome late arrival Charmin, imperial walkers, cherry pickers, copperhead merkins and squats, and One Big Crimson Good Morning. The Thang Grab a coupon and line up at the first island for 11’s, coupon curls while walking down to the next island for squats, overhead presses while walking back for rows. [Read More]

Crawlbear Kettlebell Backtracking

YHC hadn’t Q’d a kettlebell workout before, but the pressure was lifted when I learned that neither Site Qs Triple Lindy or Wahoo would be there. YHC brought the keurig and Theismann brought the flag, we were all set. No FNGs, so pledge and down to business. Warm up Mosey around parking lots SSH IC x12 Windmills IC x12 Imperial Walkers IC x12 SF FWD + Seal Clap + SF BWD + OH Claps + Hallelujah’s IC x12 ea Thang 1 - Crawlbear Kettlebell Backtracks I was planning a tabata, but then I came across a kettlebell flow that inspired me to come up with what I’m calling the Crawlbear Kettlebell Backtrack. West to Winterfell

AO: Winterfell Workout Date: 05/24/21 The Wake County geography doesn’t quite overlay with fictional Westeros for me to claim I am going over the proverbial wall between Raleigh and Carpex. I do recall Winterfell being on the west side of Westeros, so I’ll go with that. It was a bit of a drive for me this morning, but not too bad (22 minutes or so). After The Farm on Saturday, I didn’t even think about it. [Read More]

2ndF Red Line Overload in the Danger Zone

AO: Danger Zone (duh) Workout Date: 05/21/21 Danger Zone was the first Carpex AO that YHC ever posted, way back in October 2017. I had started posting with my 2.0 BOOM! (7 years old at the time) since he was usually wide awake at 5AM. We ran into Burt at The Forge and he encouraged us to come check out his Q that week at DZ. In preparation for my Q, I dug up Burt’s old Backblast (see NMS) and had a good laugh. [Read More]

Helping out your GBB!

Love me some Dante’s Peak! Great group of guys there this amazing morning! It’s the 21st day of my man Flacco’s Murph-a-day in May – wondering how I can help him knock that out and keep it fun for all… here’s what went down…. Smithers brought FNG, we did the mission, bit of a disclosure and then the pledge. Warm-up – moseyed up the hill and down the locked up entrance to the basketball court – good morning, windmill, hillbilly, shoulder stuff, merkin, mtn climber, etc. [Read More]

So I know some of you are woodworkers...

My 3 years of f3 celebration continue as I Q at the place I posted for the 2nd time, and my favorite Carpex AO, Bradfords Ordinary. What I remember from that post was that Disco Duck was the Q and the old lady that gave Callahan what was walking and carrying a bag of rice as he was coming off of IR a hard time. (Read about it here) FNGs: 2 Welcome Satchmo and Flavortown [Read More]

3 years now...

So 3 years ago I showed up to Rush Hour, it was stupid hot, I had no gloves, but a man who I would later learn was named “Old Maid” walked to the parking lot welcomed me, and led me over to the gathering point to introduced me to the rest of the men gathered. We waiting for the “Q” named “Riptide” who arrived right on time grabbed a small kid’s tricycle and said follow me. [Read More]

Insomnia made me do it!

Once again I find myself not able to sleep. Awake at 1:10am, again at 2:32am and then finally at 4:44am. I give in. I get dressed and head out early to knock out an Insomnia pre SNS Q. During my 1.35m mozy, I take the time to reflect on all the things. I love that we have theses amazing parks/greenways to use. I appreciate the F3 brotherhood that I am a part of and the accountability it brings to my days and remember that no matter how bad I think I have it, someone else has it worse. [Read More]

What's Old Is New Again

YHC and Chipper launch at 0500 for the first shirtless FWD EC run of the season. It was glorious. It also turns out that his watch will only report accurate mileage if we run this particular route backwards. He continues to use this watch. A very solid crowd of 15 for the ME, including Yoga Mat and Whirlie making their first appearances at FWD in a while. Great to see these guys back. [Read More]

Adult "Keepy Uppy"

At the elite Tuesday limited-run/maximum pain AO in Carpex, we wanted to do something special today. I am still limited with an ankle but was looking forward to mixing things up a bit. I still had beers leftover from 2.0’s birthday, so I brought those…and some of his Bluey balloons for the PAX to play with. I am pretty sure I heard Repeato giggle with glee as those balloons were introduced. [Read More]
