Better late than never?

So admittedly, this is like a week and a half overdo, but here’s my backblast from my GT Q from 1/11. Full disclosure (as previously stated in my Green Mile BB) I am a sucker for free stuff. And I have a problem with the number of pairs of socks I own already, so with the opportunity of free socks, I jumped at that chance! Anyway, I was surprised to see the number of cars in the parking lot that Friday morning. [Read More]

Double Sevens!

So YHC made the mistake of asking earlier in the week who had the Q for Piranha Park on Saturday. Well, site Q Peeping Tom replied no one and asked if I wanted to take it. I said maybe, so naturally he just went ahead and put my name on the sheet. Fair enough, let’s see what I can do with an hour… Warmup: Pledge of allegiance to the flag and mission statement and off we head out of the park towards the road. [Read More]

Lonnie Anderson and Zombies

This is the kind of morning we are having. Extra Crispy shows up to SNS after a 2 year hiatus. Burt introduces himself as Burt Reynolds. ViewMaster comments that he once worked on Burt Reynolds’ horse farm in Florida and got to hang out with Lonnie Anderson. Burt has a minor cardiac event at the very mention of Lonnie’s name. I have to stop Burt from helping himself to Coffeteria before the workout starts. Term Paper's Proctologist

YHC had a front row seat at the DTC railroad crossing arm while watching the longest train in the world pass through the city. T’was 5:20 a.m. and YHC still needed to make it to Point Break for the 5:30 Q. Not gonna lie, didn’t think I’d make it, but I did with 30 sec to spare. whew! After proper introduction as the Fitness Leader for the day and stumbling through a disclaimer, YHC led the PAX on a warm-up jog to the back side of Cinebistro parking lot. [Read More]

The Hangover Q

To quote Jimmy Buffett, “It’s a fine line between Saturday night and Sunday morning.” Or in this case Friday night and Saturday morning. This installment all happens to be Captain Jack’s fault, but that is a story for another time. OTR waits for no man, and the sweat will help everybody - especially YHC. 0620 and someone is already skateboarding at this place. Contrary to popular belief, skateboarders have no chill. Out of Order

17 PAX trickled into Marla Dorrell park through the thick and chunky atmosphere to join YHC for some exercise this morning. Here’s what we did! Gather at the flag for disclaimer and the F3 mission… and follow me. No FNG check, because everyone looks at least vaguely familiar. Into the park we go… Warmup at the inner lot (8cGM, SSH, SM, IW) and follow me into the playground for a micro-Dora with a partner (50x Merkins, Squats, LBCs). [Read More]

Slow and Low, That is the Tem-po

AO: M.A.S.H. Workout Date: 06/18/21 I’ve spent way too much time trying to find some M.A.S.H.-related themes for this backblast, and sorry, boys, it ain’t happening. This is my fourth Q of the week, and M.A.S.H.’s late start (on a Friday!) was right up my alley this morning. I set my alarm for thirty minutes later and still moved it another thirty minutes when I woke in the middle of the night. [Read More]

The More You Know

A beautiful, crisp morning. Definitely not feeling like June. YHC rolls into the parking lot and experiences something I have never seen before. Every person at this workout other than myself is coming back from an EC run. We are definitely in Beige country now. Luckily Banjo and Pivot are in the mix so we can diversify the color palette a bit. No FNGs. Obviously. Pledge. Mosey around the school to the bottom of the hill for a warm-up.
