Clock, block, and rock work

Inspired earlier in the week by Hermes’ rule [1], YHC grabbed the Q yesterday morning, and then was unexpectedly roped into 3 separate happy hours (2 liquor-themed, 1 beer) that afternoon (all virtual, MADD can rest assured) so planning time consisted of waking up, throwing on some clothes, and the 10-min drive in. Theismann was already there doing pull-ups. Earhart showed up looking like a teenager with a serious case of bedhead. [Read More]

Breaking news: Men with maces running around town can't even properly disturb the peace

Despite tools made to crumble cement, a group of men wearing odd sweatbands who descended upon poor, fair POGL failed to break a single window. Although passersby described the group as “sweaty” and “out-of-breath,” no demolition dust or other typical signs of modern-day peaceful protests were observed. Chants included reciting the (American) pledge and closing in prayer. No posters observed, but many bumper stickers with an F3 logo have given reporters a hot lead to follow. [Read More]

Fun Bags

‘Twas a lovely morning in the POGL as four stalwarts converged on the site of Tin2Iron for some work. YHC has been doing some ruck & sandbag training and thought it would be the gentlemanly thing to do to share some of the experience with the PAX. A slowzy around the pickle, and a warm up with Good Mornings, Merkins, Mountain Climbers, and BartmArmORama (Sir Fazio, seal clap, fazio sir, overhead clap, moroccan nightclub). [Read More]

Good Hill Hunting

BRR season is upon us, whether the Pax like it or not. Several crushed the Cauliflower EC, but since I rolled in at 5:13, I can’t tell you exactly who. 5:15 start. No shovel flag with good brother Snip at the beach, but I noticed on my drive in that the Town of Cary mounted flags around Koka Booth for the 4th, so we moseyed to the traffic island where we were surrounded by Old Glories. Schwetty

There was a disturbing abundance of sleeves at the skate park this morning. Warm-Up Mosey over to the Town of Apex parking lot and circle up for hillbillies, daisy pickers, arm circles, copperhead merkins, copperhead squats and burpees (one for each untanked pax). The Thang Mosey over to parking lot behind the building with the stairs on the sides. 5 hand release merkins, 5 squats, 5 LBCs and trip up and down the stairs. [Read More]

Shaken by Shakin'

AO: Shaken Not Stirred Workout Date: 07/07/21 I’ve always been confused by the spelling of Shakin Not Stirred on the f3carpex.com schedule. Obviously some type of 007 reference for the (James) Bond Park AO. As I tweeted out the night before, I could only think Shakin was an obscure reference to the classic Eddie Money song. You are correct, that does not make sense. I’ve posted Bond Park workouts a few times, but never at the anchor boot camp of Carpex’s former weekly convergence. [Read More]

Mosquito joy at the 'rok

Kids are out of town so of course all us nutters at F3 decide that’s a great time to post extra and maybe hit up sites that are normally off the books, right? Looked forward to this crew, knowing that it usually brings some faces that are less frequently seen in the gloom. So of course the first face I see when I roll up is Press On rocking a TCU Fear the Frog t-shirt. [Read More]

Tired

This is going to be short. Sorry fellas. I’m beat. Kids are out of town still so last night the M and I went to dinner at Hank’s Dive Bar in DTC. It’s not really a dive but the drinks are good and the fried cauliflower is fantastic. Recommended. I had seen Chewie walk by the window earlier in the evening so as we were leaving I gave the place a bit of a scan to see if I would spot him. [Read More]

Don't Panic

AO: Dante’s Peak Workout Date: 07/02/21 When scoping out my Q, I quickly recognized Apex Nature Park from my Piranha Park Q. Excited for another visit, I pulled up to the park entrance just before 0540 to find the parking lot gate closed and no cars in sight. Was I at the wrong park? I tried to pull up f3carpex.com on my phone, but it wasn’t loading. In a decent panic, I drove back the way I came on Evans. [Read More]

Who's Your Uncle?

The Back Story After fifteen hours of rain from Tropical Storm Elsa, the skies parted and left a beautiful Carpex just ready for something special – YHC’s first Q. And what an auspicious occasion it was! I knew I took a long time to finally get to this place and there were a lot of guys that encouraged, pushed, and flat-out razzed me to get here. Thank you all for that. [Read More]
