7 is the number

9 HIMs converged at Downtown Cary flag poles near the Cary PD looking for some good fellowship beatdown. The bell tolled 18:00 hrs. No FNGs. We cited the mission, 5 core principles, and credo. We pledged our allegiance to Old Glory and off we went in the direction of the parking deck. Runner hit the stairs to the top and mosey down to level 1. Walkers walk to lower deck (no stairs). Running at Rush Hour?!

Arriving a bit early to recon my plan, and mozy a lap or two for my warmup, I confirm the overall idea I’ve had for a few weeks. This is gonna be fun I think to myself. I was wrong. ;). 7 HIM arrived, the disclaimer was said, and the pledge was recited. Off we go on a mozy to lawn by deck For warmups Good evenings SSH Sir fazoios Over head Claps Seal claps Calf stretch Runners stretch Short mozy to bottom of parking deck for Thang 1: 7’s - using the stairs [Read More]

Claymore 9/21/21: Shuffle up and squeal

Ten brave PAX found their way to the constructioniest site in central Cary on a beautiful Tuesday morning, hoping for a dose of pain. The Deck of Death was there to deliver. Pre-event mumblechatter was relocated to the first base side in hopes of avoiding any Karen-related altercations. Short warm-up: SSH, MC, Merkins, and some BartmArmORama. Mosey to the rock pile and grab an ego rock. Foie Gras, VHS, and Kinky Boots were briefed on the Deck of Death: [Read More]

OG Bootcamp

With all the training for the BRR, I need more bootcamp in my life. The pythons are looking a little sickly (not in the good millenial phrasing way) and I may be a little loose in the cage. This week has been all about more balanced workout - and less miles. So when the chance to Q arguably the greatest AO location in all of Carpex popped up, I jumped all over it and decided to deliver an OG style bootcamp. [Read More]

This was a tough day for sure. I’ll keep it limited an amplify the few things that are truly relevant: I’m thankful for Burt and his perpetual support of the PAX. Seeing that flag and the beer made my day. I’m thankful for Riptide. He was up early to let me know and not leave me hanging there. Great to see Foie Gras back after a devastating week. Here for you, man. [Read More]

Another Yank safely contained

Last Saturday, YHC moved from Chatham county closer to the center of the Carpex universe, going from 0 AOs* within an EC-able 3-mile radius to approximately half of all the AOs in Carpex (or as HK calls it, the Nation). What better way to move in, meet new Pax, and ensure that YHC wakes up and works out each day instead of sleeping in on a week off than to Q every day at a Cary AO? [Read More]

¡Three FNGos!

AO: Phoenix Workout Date: 06/12/21 YHC has posted Phoenix (or maybe it was Werewolf), but it has obviously been a while. The starting parking lot was a lot smaller than I remembered and there were a large number of PAX, including three FNGs. Time to start modifying the plan. Warm Up: State the mission, check for FNGs (3), and give the disclaimer Side Straddle Hop x20 In Cadence (IC) Good Morning x5 IC [Read More]

Conquering the Beast

Serious storms overnight, but a gap in the rain from 530 to 7 made for a great morning to workout. For my 6th anniversary, 6x6x6 (or the Beast) seemed appropriate, but I wanted to mix it up. We made 36 stops throughout Down Town Cary, and performed series’ of 6 exercises at each (sometimes throwing in 2 exercises at the stops) If you want to know what we did (sort of), see the image. Merlot, 3 Honors, no Murph, no coffee, blood, 1 bud light, & counting can be so freakin' hard!

Wow – crazy fun morning at BO! So very much was happening & I’m not sure if I can capture half of it…. here’s my version, my truth…. Men gathered at the flag, grumbling was evident as Flacco’s presence looms large these days of May…. Murph on the minds of the PAX. We did the mission, the pledge, & were off to tour the town. Loop around & head to the bank for warm-ups – executed under extreme mumble chatter – it was awesome! [Read More]
