2022 May the 4th Be With You CARPEX Challenge

(This Backblast is long….) Pre-Thang A Long Time Ago in a Galaxy Far Away…. May the 4th Be With You CARPEX Challenge It is chaotic times in galaxy. The Empire as fallen. The New Republic is moving fast to gain control of former Imperial facilities. Mon Mothma has charged the New Republic Eclipse Team travel to the planet Wayland, located in the Inner Rim, to lock down a former Imperial Research Facility. [Read More]

Decades Day 2: Measure Twice 50's

Day Two – and the first “official” AO day. As a new site Q for Measure Twice, felt like a perfect setting to continue the week. The site moved from the original Carpenter Park location (hence the AO name) to Northwest Park, technically in Morrisville. This is primarily due to access to RTP Trails, which normally would have fallen on this day. After some pre-blasting to the regulars to ensure no mutiny, YHC decided to stick to the regular paved loop. [Read More]

3 (Years) Is The Magic Number

Realizing that 2021 was coming to an end pretty quickly and knowing that my anniversary of joining F3 was in January, I grabbed the Q slot back in late Oct to celebrate it as best I can. Little did I know how important this Q would be… A quick disclaimer was made and with no fngs in attendnace, we started with the pledge. Then we mozied towards the parking lot up the road. Grand plans... but no Ark

Measure Twice. Outside of DZ, my most frequented - and most Qed - AO in 2021. So might as well keep that distinction going in 2022! Oh the plans I had this morning. The running … the trails … the hills … not to mention the yoga! Oh the yoga! The PAX were going to be beaten down, broken up and then yoga-glued back together in ways the rest of the AOs could only dream of. [Read More]

Your M Will Thank Me Later

Preamble Sometime on Tuesday, as I was contemplating my posts for the rest of the week, a message appeared out of the blue that the HFT QIC slot for Thursday was open. YHC jumped on it and…Boom! Thursday plan solved! Then sometime on Wednesday, Buzz Cut messaged me something to the effect of “I don’t know you; can I count on you actually Qing my site?” Right question, wrong PAX to ask. 'Sup dawg, 'Sup J.Lo, and other broga poses ICYMI

While running with the Travelling Circus, Pivot was saying how he hadn’t needed to Q-beg* the entire summer because BRR had brought out the inner Yogi in each of us. YHC thought we can’t let this momentum slip away; after all, there are numerous other races to be run†, not to mention slightly less running intensives adventures such as our very own CSAUP, The Odyssey coming up in a few short weeks! No Run is Limited Run

YHC decided to embrace the limited run mantra completely with a zero-run workout. Movement between Thangs was done at a walking pace and only long enough to slightly drop HR. Warm up was a fairly standard one: Good Morning, Side Straddle Hop, Down Dog, Sir Fazio, Windmill, Hillbilly, Calf Stretch Thang 1: PAX all circle up, and an “active” and “active recovery” exercise are called. Ascending ladder of 1-2-3-4 reps of the active exercise, one PAX at a time, moving around the circle. [Read More]

Operating Heavy Machinery

Having been thinking about having some fun at an AO for a while and decided MASH would be the ideal place to give it a shot. Had I known how many peeps we’d have, I would have recruited a second! Arrived a few minutes early. Unfortunately not early enough as I was maybe 15 seconds too late to give Pivot a good scare by blasting my horn as he ran by. [Read More]
