Time Flys.

Over the past five years, my life has undergone a remarkable transformation since “joining” F3. It all began with a chance encounter in my neighborhood, where I was minding my own business, on a walk on one of the greenways when a stranger approached, asking if I was with them. Perplexed, I inquired, “Who are you?” He hastily explained what F3 was, and as I headed home after my walk that morning, where I couldn’t shake off the feeling that it might be some sort of cult! We'll take it from here, Cardinal

Early Thursday morning, YHC was stirring and came across the news of young Taylor Phelps, F3 Cardinal, out of Knoxville TN, who had horribly passed away during his Virgin Q (VQ) at a workout on 1/11/23. For Thursday’s workout, I incorporated one small element of his planned workout, 15 double count Freddy Mercury’s. We did them at the very end of our workout, and after the workout was over, I shared that his planned workout looked extremely hard, and I would be hesitant to try it. [Read More]

After 21 weeks off from the Q sheet (last Q was Wolverine in July!) Hard like Beskar

Well. It’s been a week. After a rare day off work last Friday, and having such a blast with a spelling bee at Danger Zone, I remembered how fun it is to Q. You never realize how bad you are at being a Q until you don’t do it for a long time, then try to jump back in the ring. DZ was a little different; I had a plan, and willing pax, and it was an out-and-back…what could go wrong? [Read More]

Dora Got Nothing on Jeff 1-2-3-4

Preamble Per usual, planning the Q started sometime after dinner and finalized before going to bed. YHC drifted off to a sound sleep with a smile my face. The smile continued as I woke up (I mean, at my age every day above ground is a blessed one), through my morning deuce/wordle/stretching routine, and on the drive to Bond Park. 40 seconds prior to launch, YHC flawlessly recited and enunciated the F3 Mission. 3 (Years) Is The Magic Number

Realizing that 2021 was coming to an end pretty quickly and knowing that my anniversary of joining F3 was in January, I grabbed the Q slot back in late Oct to celebrate it as best I can. Little did I know how important this Q would be… A quick disclaimer was made and with no fngs in attendnace, we started with the pledge. Then we mozied towards the parking lot up the road. It sure feels like spring.

As I am awoken from a restful nights sleep post holiday party, I roll out of bed, check the weather and am giddy that I’ll be able to feel my fingers during the entire workout! Spring is here… for the day at least. With that I head over to SWW a bit early, taking in the sites and sounds of the gloom, and confirming my Q. 5:45 arrives along with 9 HIM, 1 being and FNG, the disclaimer is given, and the pledge is recited. Kettlebell & Coffee on a Monday Morning!

Looking to wrap up the year stronger than I started I felt it was time to lift heavy things with a group of 23 others HIM. That along with the promise for some trunk coffee and perhaps the need to check off a few last boxes brought me out to Hells Bell’s this AM YHC gave disclaimer, searched for FNGS and with non present we started with the pledge then mozy the pickle and starting with [Read More]
