Adult "Keepy Uppy"

At the elite Tuesday limited-run/maximum pain AO in Carpex, we wanted to do something special today. I am still limited with an ankle but was looking forward to mixing things up a bit. I still had beers leftover from 2.0’s birthday, so I brought those…and some of his Bluey balloons for the PAX to play with. I am pretty sure I heard Repeato giggle with glee as those balloons were introduced. [Read More]

Hide and Seek

Today’s Q was in doubt when I jammed up my ankle at #2F-Guys-and-Balls yesterday. But all I did was make the PAX run while I stayed central for the workout. The HIMs were understanding and didn’t rag on me too bad about that…they focused on my sexy new silkies instead. Since I wasn’t hiding any part of my legs in those silkies (totally a photo of me as featured photo), I decided we’d play hide and seek for our workout instead. [Read More]

Cougar Town, 30-40 make 70's

The idea for this Q came from my curiosity on whether there is actually a definition of being a cougar. Reliable, first-page Google hits assure that there is, indeed. The possibility of being a cougar begins at 40 years old, with a typical 10 year gap, thus making the average cub a barely-escaped hate at 30 (coincidentally also YHC’s age). Less than 2% of US relationships meet this definition, so if you, gentle reader, are one of them, you are one of the few, the proud, the cradle-graved. [Read More]

Getting Swole on Thorsday!

I was pretty excited for this workout. It was the first true Spring evening workout (in my opinion) - the weather was perfect. I decided to grab some weapons for the thang and utilize the Asgardian Warrior Training Grounds. My goal for this workout was to push everyone for 45 straight minutes. Workout together but against yourself. No FNGs. We Pledged to the good ‘ole US of A and moseyed to the Asgardian Warrior Training Grounds (Elevate Course at the park) for a quick warm-up. 4 corners and 7s at the basketball court, busting the Nantanogram bracket

The biggest April Fools I had today was the weather, treating us all to one last dose of winter. We needed 44 HIMs to show up to reach the Nantan success metric of 100…we made one of those digits, despite my recruiting efforts beforehand at the AAZ. Warm up Mosey with some backwards, forwards, and karaoke strides to the Basketball court in honor of the close of March madness season. [Read More]

Ragnarockin' Over the Wall

Greetings, Carpex! YHC just completed my 2021 Q Challenge in Raleigh (Q 21 different AOs) and I am spreading my wings. I’ve posted in Carpex a few times in the past (Danger Zone, Carpex Dads, Werewolf, and most recently Rush Hour). You might’ve noticed a few of us Raleigh guys dropping in to get points for a challenge we have going on this month. It was one of our Raleigh (ahem, Garner) brothers, Bouchér, who recently posted Rush Hour and opened my eyes to the evening workouts in Carpex. [Read More]

I'm sorry

Every now and again, you say something that is mean or hurtful or just plain not nice. Today was one of those days. Ten guys got together this morning at Hunter Street Park expecting 45 minutes of what F3 does best: joyful camaraderie. Instead, an ill-tempered roast busted out. And YHC is squarely to blame. After a mosey the long way around to the lady’s parking lot, we warmed up with some SSHs, Burt Jacks, Merkins, Plank Jacks, Supermen and some other stuff. [Read More]

Nothing Special

After a February full of cold and rain, March comes in like a lamb with beautiful weather in the 60s. Warm-Up Mosey up the hill towards Laurel Park Elementary and circle up in the parking lot for good mornings, imperial walkers, Sir Fazios forwards, copperhead merkins, copperhead squats, arm twirlies in reverse. The Thang The back of the parking lot has a straightaway that’s just perfect for 10-10 sprints. 10 monkey humpers, 10 dry docks, run to the first light pole and back. [Read More]

PHAT Tuesday

22 brave men and 2 brave dogs assembled in beautiful downtown Cary on the most glorious evening of the year. Warm-Up Mosey around the parking lot in front of Page Walker, past the pocket park, to the parking lot next to the tracks and circle up for various warm-up exercises. I think one of them was burpees. The Thang Mosey safely across the street to the little hill behind the Chamber of Commerce for 7&7. [Read More]

Ragnarok-yo-body

Four pax and one dog showed up at Ragnarok for a holy cow what time is it? 8 PM? Seriously? OK, here we go. Warm-Up Mosey over to the little basketball court and diamond up for failed hillbillies, penalty burpees, seal claps, cherry pickers, copperhead merkins and copperhead squats. The Thang Grab an ego rock at the rock pile and line up on the big basketball court. Three rounds of 10 rock squats, 10 overhead presses, run to the other end, 10 monkey humpers, 10 dry docks, run back. [Read More]
