Best Estimate in the Circus

March 5, 2020, it’s a perfect day for a morning workout, and for YHC’s VQ at FC. Thanks to Pivot for signing me up, it’d probably take me much longer to make up my mind even though it had been mentioned to me a couple times recently. Slight jitter to start as YHC did not have a lot of time to go through the Q plan that was made up the day before, but knew the structure’s there. [Read More]

All right, maybe not. But the GPS made an interesting pattern and there were a bunch of He-Men out at Gran Torino this AM: 10 Boot Camp, 6 Runners, and 4 Ruckers. Disclaimer disclaimed to FNG Steve Beaker’s beginnings (The Warm-Up) Mosey around the school, stopping along the way at some spots along the way for: Accelerating Side-Straddle Hops Sir-Fazio Arm Circles Wille-Mays Hayes Daisy Pickers Mountain Climbers Beaker’s Beatdown (The Thang) [Read More]

Foggy Day, Sore Shoulders

YHC continued my tour of the AOs, which formed this PAX by traveling south to the Wolverine. One of my first times posting here, Hi-Liter had the Q, and YHC wanted to pay a good memory to that HIM with this beatdown. Warm Up: Mosey to the Basketball courts (allowing for a slight detour on a sidewalk which leads to nowhere, thanks Cary). 15 Windmills (Faster windmills than they cared for according to the MC from the PAX) [Read More]

Lazy Ass Hofberg

There were a few HIM who got after some EC running. YHC and Banjo tackled 5.5 and we saw the Mother of all Bells show up for some, but as I went to press I did not know how far he ran or who joined him. But if you did you know who you are and what you did. 0545 No FNG No reason for Disclaimer No time for the pledge. [Read More]

You Get a Rock, You Get a Rock, EVERYBODY GETS A ROCK!

YHC continued my tour of the West Carpex AOs that started my F3 career with a trip to Field of Dreams. This trip was bound to be a good one with the plethora of choices the Q has at their disposal, and I hope the PAX got exactly what they paid for with their expensive F3 membership. Warm-up: YHC noticed that the PAX were quite happy to see one another this morning, because the mumblechatter was on point to start. [Read More]

2020 Krispy Kreme Challenge

So it doesn’t happen in F3 unless there is a Back Blast. My stomach lining would disagree with that after a dozen donuts. It might even make its own “back blast” all over your shoes. But rules are rules so… This morning 15 HIMs showed up for a pre-race Murph. I was glad when Old Maid read a short piece about Lt. Michael Murphy and the sacrifice he, his team, and the teams who tried to extract them made in that battle. [Read More]

Fat. Man. Relays*

When you are 5'9" and 145lbs. in high school, with most of that mass residing between your calves and waist, you have sprinter potential. Unlike some Carpexers, I prefer my running to max out at about 400yds. If I have to pace myself, it’s not really my bag, baby. The discus throwers, shot-putters et al. liked to make fun of us skinny fast dudes because of all the running we had to do while they drank beer and threw heavy stuff. [Read More]

Tributes, Domination, and Baby Bjorn Rock Carriers

So this week, YHC drives past at least two other closer AOs, down Kelly Road to Thomas Brooks park, the site of Field of Dreams. A very expansive site it is, with lots of options to travel. Therefore, we ignore all that extra space and stay within 200 yards of the flag at all times. It seems FOD is trying to take on an SNS feel, with lots of running opportunities that are either EC before the workout, or are done in place of the workout. [Read More]
