Madness In The Method

By trade I’m a project manager. I always have a plan. But many times, I don’t actually finalize Q plans until minutes before the event actually starts. For the FMJ Q today, I must tip my proverbial hat to Suck Up. Unbeknownst to HIM, the plan was nearly finalized while on the playground at Kelly Road park while completing our Memorial Day Murph. In typical Suck Up fashion, he was smiling a lot and finding ways to talk trash while being super nice. [Read More]

Good teams set standards and goals, GREAT TEAMS are accountable for results

Beaker gave Ice Man the disclaimer, he was named at a Bible study, but this is his first post. Pledge then warmup: SSH, Imperial Walker, windmills, stretches. Accountability partner up. Mosey to Sweetwater and back with stops in route to do the following, P1 number reps first exercise while P2 continues second exercise, flapjac number X. Burpees/Low plank hold - 5 reps 4x Star jumps/Low Squat hold - 20 reps 4x [Read More]

El KryptoFell (Meadow)

Sometimes it’s just important to get a BB together to celebrate the fact that the most miles and greatest elevation covered at ANY AO on Monday, the First Day of February, in the year of our Lord two thousand and twenty one was at Winterfell. Thirteen studs crushed >3,5 miles and >250 ft of gain. They are all recruit-ready for BRR 2021. Enjoyed it fellas. Not much talking up that little incline this morning. [Read More]

One Year and Respect Week

Celebrated Respect Week and my one year anniversary in F3. My first year has been highlighted with a VQ, a Thanksgiving and New Year Convergence, COVID restrictions, Virtual Workouts, a Maynard, BRR training/relay, the Odyssey, and the development of friendships and personal growth. It was a cool evening and 10 PAX (also 2.0’s Sonic & Tails) , 2 dogs, and a visiting PAX Poncherello (works at Cary Police 911 and we often see him going to work when we are waiting. [Read More]

Blimps at FOD!

With all the BRR festivities, the Q sheet was looking a little empty a few days ago so YHC decided to grab the open spot at the original West Cary workout location, Thomas Brooks Park. In 2017 there were two Tuesday options. Only two. And the other site (FWD) is basically in south Raleigh so YHC and Crimson were FOD regulars. Today was great weather, the humidity was manageable and a great group of PAX joined together for a wonderful start to the morning. [Read More]

Record Breaking Hump Day #twss

YHC’s birthday Q week rolls on. I was excited to get after it this morning feeling strong after a long run last weekend and two solid workouts to start the week. Read all about them here and here. Upon arriving at Point Break, parking was limited. There was quite the turnout for ‘Das Boot’ or whatever the name is of the new long run option on a Wednesday that isn’t The Maynard. [Read More]

One more thing technology ruined

No, it’s not the encyclopedia salesman nor roosters. It’s being able to tell CW from CCW. YHC showed up at #MeasureTwice a couple minutes early and just at 5:30 began the disclaimer (see NMS) and a talk-through of the run route. My goal had been to add a few short-cuts for the Clydesdales so we could run the same route and start/finish together with a few options in between. But Franklin started getting all antsy so instead of taking it nice and slow like I would have done normally with someone so clearly not in control of their faculties, I rushed through things. Katowice meets Bialystok

Pierogi Q tour continues with a return visit to the West Side. Pulled in around 5:20, shoes still on the passenger seat, with Sky Blue sliding into his regular spot just in front of me. As I leisurely put one shoe on and then the other, I notice the Flying Circus founder is getting agitated. He’s bouncing around like I’m holding him back from something. And as I tighten my laces and put the keys in the regular hiding spot, the man is literally running away from me down the parking lot. [Read More]
