A great start

I’ll be the first to admit that I did loose some sleep night before, I did end up rewriting my workout ideas multiple times, I did have some anxiety. And once we got rolling that morning I did suffer a bit from my winke. Mumble chatter was prominent, for certain. But I was warned. Despite all that after all was said and done it sure did feel good. What a great start. [Read More]

Lexicon M&M,N,O

14 started in the gloom at Flying Circus. 13 ended. Our brother Swag rolled his ankle during the cross country trek through the mulch. A root took him down. Thanks to Gump for his swift action and emergency driving to get Swag back to his car and on his way home. Nobody dressed up for today - except your Q as a blue M&M for Lexicon MNO…well M&N, no O. One Year - You get a clock!

One year ago I showed up to Apex Nature Park on a Monday and asked some guy named Disco Duck if this was the “workout group.” A couple of days later I’m running laps next to a dude with a monkey taped to his crotch. To try and sum up even just one year of highlights and memories would be a muggo sized feat. The current task at hand is to provide a worthy beatdown to the 32 PAX that chose to grace FOD on a beautiful Tuesday morning. [Read More]

And in this corner...

With the upcoming Haven House Rumble, YHC thought I should try to train at least a little bit for the dance around the squared circle. It was a great morning to show up with a loosely developed plan. Watching a few clips of The One and Only Tony Horton inspired some P90x style exercises. 0545 Circle Up, Mission, Pledge, Disclaimer Warm-Up: a couple of fellowship mosey trips around the pickle with some invigorating butt kickers, high knees, and karaokes. An Ode to Angry Elf

Two years ago today, YHC stumbled out of a slumber to visit Fred G. Bond Park in the heart of Cary. Known prior to that fateful day only as Kyle John Montgomery (save “Daddy” to a couple of kids, and “Skolnick” to a group of college buddies), this sad clown was drawn to a mysterious gathering of men, looking for a good workout…and an adventure. As soon as he jumped out of his car, he was welcomed with a warm yet equally obnoxious, “Hey, what are you doing here? [Read More]

The Term Paper

Today, at Flying Circus, 13 PAX celebrated two dates that will forever live in infamy. The first, June 6, 1944, the day when Allied forces stormed the beaches of Normandy to begin the liberation of Europe from Nazi Germany. The second, June 5, 2018, the day of my first F3 posting at Field of Dreams, led by Term Paper. To commemorate these two events, we replicated my first F3 Carpex experience designed by the famed Term Paper, and added some D-Day twists as well. [Read More]

A tribute to 151

151 on a Friday, not nearly that many at Phoenix the next morning, but still a chance to pay tribute. 1 FNG in the lot, a dang purrfect disclaimer and mission statement and it’s time to workout. Down to the lower lot. YHC encourages the young Mr. Miyagi to jump in a VQ a few warmup exercises. The kid did good, still much to learn, but he’s on the right path. [Read More]

148, 44, 54, 6, 3, 2

Angry Elf and YHC had it all planned out. Until 50 guys showed up at Danger Zone! Too many to take down into the bowels of the park. But we have a glorious field that fits 50 perfectly. Anyway, today was a big day. A day of numbers one might say. 6 - Carpex’ 6th Anniversary. Evidence shows the first Cary F3 workout occurred on 5/31/2013 at North Cary Park and was named Danger Zone. The Hill is Alive

Perfect morning at FWD! Site I don’t get to a whole lot – great to get together with some fine high-impact men. 14 HIMs gathered – No FNGs, only familiar faces. F3 intro given & we started with the pledge. Moseyed around the parking lot & painted some lines. With all that running out of the way, we rolled into: The Warm Up Circle up for SSH, good mornings, windmills, imperial walkers, hill billies, calf stretch merkins, etc. [Read More]

Shakin' & Stirrin'

Warm & beautiful morning in Cary’s Bond Park for Shaken not Stirred – great group of hard workin’ men too! It was my pleasure to lead such a group & I thoroughly enjoyed it! No FNGs, only familiar faces. Started with the pledge & moved out to a close-by parking lot. The group was informed that this is F3 – modify as necessary! We rolled into: The Warm Up Circle up for SSH, good mornings, windmills, cotton pickers, calf-stretch merkins, mountain climbers, etc. [Read More]
