November 1

19 Pax showed up to the POGL newest Friday AO. No FNG’s this morning and no time to waste so let’s get started. Quick mosey around the lower parking lot and circled up. SSH’s, good mornings, calf stretch, sir fazio, and goofballs were called. Now that we are warmed up let’s begin. Most of my Q’s have some sort of theme, so we are going to spell out November. Partner up. [Read More]

Merkin Monday (on a Friday)

Welcome to the 3rd installment of Flaccoversary Week 2018, and only the 2nd installment Q’d by YHC! After an unexpected business trip to Virginia preempted the 2nd installment (that was graciously Q’d by Sabre), YHC felt the need to get swolt. (And my legs aren’t working very well since the lungefest at SNS, so upper body seemed the way to go.) So my M went to Crate & Barrel to buy me something nice for my Flaccoversary, and she found Merkins on sale. [Read More]

Advertising works!

YHC has been out of Carpex for the past few days exploring F3 out west in St. Louis and was really looking forward to being back home. Since there isn’t much to do outside of work when traveling YHC was advertising the upcoming beat down all week on slack. And let’s just say that the adverting brought out the numbers - 32 PAX joined my in south Carpex on this fine Friday morning. [Read More]

Boots ta Boot

What a day, what a day! YHC grabbed the Q spot at DP and longing awaited the chance to head west for all 3 F’s with the Apex pax. With YHC’s alarm set for 0430, here goes. Arrive early for EC pull-ups with GTL, Theismann, Rooney and Frisco. Aeorsmith was there as well and Steve Tyler rocked us during our sets. Great work men. The rest of the reg-U-lars arrived and I’m looking at 30 pax for this beat down (has to be the most in Carpex today, right? [Read More]

Against the Wind

YHC asked about the Dante’s Peak mileage record last week. An innocent question, and not expected to turn into a thing. But since Sooey had the Q the week before me, he took it as a challenge and ran us 3.3 miles. Now it’s up to YHC to top that. Let’s see how we did. Warm-Up Mosey over to end of the parking lot and circle up for side straddle hops, hillbillies, copperhead squats, planks jacks and copperhead merkins. [Read More]

Brought to you by the letter B

YHC was dismayed last Friday to learn that the one day I was taking off last week was the day F3Carpex went burpee crazy, and I missed all the fun. Fortunately I had the next Dante’s Peak Q and an opportunity to help make #burpeefriday a thing. Warm-up Mosey to the circle for side stradle hopes, burpees (the best warm-up exercise), imperial walkers, merkins and mountain climbers. Thang 1 Mosey over to the basketball courts, count off by fours, each group takes a corner. [Read More]

Celebration in the Peak of Good Living

Earhart, sooner, SUEY, Swag, monkey nut, disco duck, Parker, Snots, Lulu, ascot, stove pipe, nature boy, Franklin, goose, blueprint, road rash, blackout, open out, Wilbur, banjo, hotspot, water wings, Crimson, sky blue Babyface, a.k.a., Colin Snyder, led a compelling sermon centered around Jesus his first miracle, John 2:1 to 11, turning water into wine at a wedding reception. YHC cannot find the podcast so you men will need to stretch your imaginations, extend some faith beyond your sensibilities, and trust me on this one. [Read More]

Step by Step

Life is a series of steps. For the first 25 years or so, you are basically pushed down a series of steps. Elementary school, little league baseball, driver’s license, first job, then usually college or in my case, the military. In the Army, every step of your life is controlled almost 24 x 7. My three years in the 82nd Airborne Division were challenging and fun but when I got out, the day I got out, the minute I signed my last form, I was lost. What a Zoo!

Pre-BB Last fall, I chaperoned my son’s field trip to the NC Zoo. Master of the obvious, I noticed that all the animals had animal names. So there’s that. BB YHC promised that Phoenix this morning would be a “zoo.” So, we went exclusively with exercises named after animals. When I mentioned my plan after our Pledge of Allegiance, I heard from the twenty-three strong PAX that we were “talking too much. [Read More]

Where in the Hell is Dante's Peak?

I knew there would come a time when I would make the trek over to Apex Nature Boy Park. Home of Carpex’s quiet workout. Only been to DP once and was in trouble early on for being a little loud. 78 degrees, humid as hell, 32 33 Pax rolled in to have some fun, get stronger and learn that, as in life, workouts are best if not in a straight line.
