Enough rollin' in my 5.0 ...

Ah, Thanksgiving. Family, food, football. And, if you are like me and my family, lots and lots of travel. With brothers and sisters spread out across the U.S. (and abroad) hosting Thanksgiving at home is a once-every-few-years affair. The rest of the time, it means a flight or a drive. This year, it was drive. And since no one wants to travel 800 miles only to turn around and head back 48 hours later, we saved the return till the last moment. Triple D Dora

This was just the most interesting picture of Miss Dora I found on the Googles. 23 PAX showed up on a brisk Monday morning to shake off the rust from the weekend and perhaps sweat out a few toxins. YHC, along with Two Factor and Sooey, took a little 2 mile EC jaunt prior to the ME. No FNGs, somewhat of a disclaimer and mission statement, recited the pledge and we were off. [Read More]

RED

We had a couple of visitors from out of town this morning, Monk from F3 The Capital (and before that Gastonia), and Red Baron from wherever Living Legends come from. Warm-Up Disclaimer and Pledge, mosey around the parking lot and grab some curb for three rounds of quick feet and curb irkens, then to the top of the deck and circle up for cherry pickers, arm twirlies, seal claps, hillbillies and a round of Good Mornings expertly led by Crimson. The Utes invaded

With little planning put into it, YHC was still feeling some pressure this morning headed to Wolverine, largely because Red Baron was in town and waiting for me at the front door for our 0515 exit. Needless-to-say, we left on time. 22 are circled up (a bunch of Utes rolled out of the Meatloaf mobile) for Wolverine and with that we we took off… out of the perfectly good (albeit dark) park. In a Spring Daze

What is the meaning of all of this traffic coming into Bond Park at 0615? I would love to say the 50 cars YHC observed roll in in about about a 10 minute span where pax upon pax coming to receive the highly anticipated beat-down that was near to launch hosted by yours truly. But alas they were not. While the pax turnout of 25 was nothing to sneeze at, this was not going to be a typical quiet morning with the 310 acres of Bond Park to ourselves. [Read More]

Getting FAT w/ Red Baron aka Eagle One

With Eagle One in town, you know him as F3 Red Baron (but truth be told he will always be Dad), I had to ask the QIC’s for this day if YHC could steal a spot. Tclaps to Red Ryder for stepping aside. Brother, I owe you one. So, with Red Baron sitting shot-gun to Wolverine we went. Pax huddled up, with an FNG on-hand and a stellar disclaimer, we were off. [Read More]

OIBACKBLAST.

Saturday. July 28, 2018 76 degrees, overcast, thunder, lightening 7 Pax gathered in the parking lot at OIB Pier. 3 from CarPex (Burt, CD, Kitty), 1 from the Dash (W-S) (Palin), 1 FNG from Durham (Palin’s FIL; now Mr. White), 1 From PA (Mr Dice Kitty’s Dad….AKA Red Baron) and 1 from Raleigh (Salt Life). Lightening. We passed on the Beach and headed to the carport area under the cool Drift coffee shop. [Read More]
