Just a bunch of Divas at Claymore

32 days between posts built a lot of pressure up to make my VQ legit. I’m biting off Qs every day for the next week and wanted to start it off the right way. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t excited to get back to work with the boys (insert TOP GUN volleyball scene gif “here”). All I could hope for today were motivated HIMs, great weather, no car trouble, and some exhausted looks at the end of the workout…of those wishes, at least I got some beautiful foggy/muggy weather to work with! Switch Back Training

Thanks to Wrench for the attempt at a video of who was in attendance. Amazingly, I was able to pretty quickly remember 13 of 14 PAX. The one that took me the longest to remember was…YHC. The Carpex Challenge quest continues this morning at Bradford’s Ordinary. I had posted here an entire 2 times previously, but I knew there was a giant parking deck, and what else do you really need than a water fountain, which we have that too! [Read More]

The S.S. Schlitz's One hour tour...

As YHC’s quest to complete more of the 2020 Carpex challenge continues, it was time to take a turn at the Phoenix Q. Bond Park is such a large AO, with so many options, I wanted to take the Pax on a tour of some of the typical stops along a Phoenix/SNS beatdown. YHC and the Triplest of Lindy’s for a nice, balmy 3 mile EC run. Here’s what went down: [Read More]

It's not the size of the rock that matters

Weather forecast for this morning was not looking good. And Claymore is one of those AO where options for hiding from the elements are limited. Unless you want to hang out under a tree. There are lots of those. I guess the dugouts technically work but then you have to worry about social distancing and how to do you split the PAX up. And there’s a bathroom. But it’s locked. And speaking of splitting PAX up… just don’t want to go there. [Read More]

Thank you for your service....

It may seem like a a cliche that we have heard constantly since 9/11. Some think it’s overused, some people don’t even think twice about it, but to some, this thank you does have value. It has meaning. It is recognition of a young person’s decision to step up into the unknown, to see if they have what it takes to serve in the armed forces. There are many sacrafices made by our young men and woman that have made the decisions to step up and serve. [Read More]

November 1

19 Pax showed up to the POGL newest Friday AO. No FNG’s this morning and no time to waste so let’s get started. Quick mosey around the lower parking lot and circled up. SSH’s, good mornings, calf stretch, sir fazio, and goofballs were called. Now that we are warmed up let’s begin. Most of my Q’s have some sort of theme, so we are going to spell out November. Partner up. [Read More]

Morticia Addams, Wonder Bras, and Depends

A beautiful autumn morning, perfect for an F3 workout. YHC rolls in to Annie Jones Park to find Quikstop walking up and down the stairs holding a rucksack over his head. Frisco was supposed to join him for an EC run, but we didn’t see him. I wondered why the lot was so empty, and asked if Claymore starts at 05:30 or 05:45. Turns out it’s the latter, and I’m not the first Q to make that mistake recently. [Read More]

Hotspot & Sooey were none-the-wiser

It has been a loooong time since I have Q’ed A-Team, so I thought I’d dig through the Backblasts to see what we did. As I was reading I thought this was a pretty good workout. Good enough to be repeated. And unless someone had a really good memory, maybe I can get away with it seeming “original.” The only two people who were there the first time were Hotspot and Sooey, and luckily they didn’t even notice.
