Gamehendge

This is the first time the full Gamehendge has been completed in CARPEX since July 1994 and while no backblast exists of that last beatdown, most PAX consider it one of the classics of the exicon. WARMUP: TMWSIY mosey as we search for Colonel Forbin and the door to Gamehedge. The music was pulsating so the pace was high and so were we. We found a gate and pushed through, down past the gazebo, avoiding the Multibeasts. [Read More]

Monday at D'wood: Episode 92 of "A Man With No Plan"

Interesting morning, to say the least. We had an FNG who was invited by “Kyle”, but had no idea what Kyle’s last name was. We had a gaggle of SCary PAX, umm, gift us the Ghost Flag? I’m a little lost on the specifics there, but I don’t really care. And evidently, neither does anyone else. Alas, pour Ghost Flag. You had a good run, pal. The PAX circled up at 0530, milling around for another 2 minutes until we started. [Read More]

Welcome FNG Milton

Six for bootcamp. One for self-inflicted pain. 13, including an FNG, for dizzying repeats around the track. Here’s what the campers did: WARMUP: Traditional warmup yog around the back of the school. Met up at the speed bumps by the elementary school for some SSHs, Squats, merkins and stretches to complete the warm up. ME: partner up. Starting from the speed bump, P1 runs the pickle one direction and the P2 goes the other direction. [Read More]

Welcome FNG Soup Cans

The PAX visited the former aerospace parts factory, now elementary school, for a series of AMRAPs & pickle runs. Warm ups were done at the little turn off between the park gate and the school. ME: There is a small pickle and a big pickle at the school. The PAX took turns running first the small pickle … then the big pickle … then the small pickle in groups. Meanwhile the remaining PAX AMRAPed various exercises from merkins, to LBCs, to squats and CCDs. [Read More]

Decades Day 2: Measure Twice 50's

Day Two – and the first “official” AO day. As a new site Q for Measure Twice, felt like a perfect setting to continue the week. The site moved from the original Carpenter Park location (hence the AO name) to Northwest Park, technically in Morrisville. This is primarily due to access to RTP Trails, which normally would have fallen on this day. After some pre-blasting to the regulars to ensure no mutiny, YHC decided to stick to the regular paved loop. [Read More]

2017 was 5 years ago?

It is hard to believe that 2017 was 5 years ago but alas here we are celebrating my 5 years of doing this thing we call F3. I am still not sure why I started in January since I really do not like cold but so glad I decided to join Crimson all those years ago. A little known fact is I did not start posting regularly until early March 2017 frequently using the too cold excuse. [Read More]

School's out for winter

If you’ve lived in this area for more than 5 years, you know the story. If it snows on Day 1… expect Day 5 to still be a snow day. And so it was in Wake County this weekend. It snowed (barely) Thursday night so Friday was naturally a snow day. Then came a solid dumping Friday night followed by two days of beautiful, snowy and generally above freezing temps on Saturday and Sunday. [Read More]

Sled-tastic

Here in the year of our Lord 2,022, there has been a fair amount of grief given over what happens with an AO when it snows. Or threatens to snow. Or is predicted to snow later this week. As it turns out, earlier this week, at least a handful of AOs were closed on account of the white fluffy stuff. The horror! On slack, much virtual ink was spilled on this topic, so much so that the rest of the week all site Qs were quick to highlight how they, and only they, would NEVER close on account of inclement weather.
