Gloomy Wolverine Means A Great Day

Several weeks ago Loom sent a DM asking if I’d like to return to my old stomping grounds at gloomy Wolverine and I happily obliged. Even better, our ShieldLock meets weekly at Wolverine so I know the landscape well. Hell, I even planned to recycle the Q workout from the Shieldlock last week. Pax started slowly rolling in: a few Travelling Circus acrobats (Clementine, PomPom, Overflow), the dynamic duo of Franklin/Badlands, the glorious return of Nature Boy (donning a full red sweatsuit with the bottoms tucked into his socks), Big Red wondering why there was another big red present, and several other HIMs for this great morning. The Switcheroo

Not going to pretend that I wasn’t a little excited about this day. Today was my 1 year anniversary of my first post with F3, right here at Dante’s Peak. A couple weeks prior Parker messaged me about this week as it was his 40th birthday last year for my first post. So we decided to keep it quiet, leave him on the Q Sheet, and pull the switcheroo on the Pax that I would be leading the beat down for the morning. [Read More]

Putting the B in Burpee, and Other B Words

I never know exactly how many PAX are boot-camping and how many are Vespering, but there were 20+ gathered at Bond Park expecting some sort of exercise routine. Warm Up A couple laps around the pickle to get the gams loose. Do the Pledge and recite the F3 Mission, circle up for SSHs, Sir Fazio forward and back, Seal claps, Steve Earles, Plank Jacks, and CFMs. The Thang Mosey down to the end of Maury O’Dell, hang a right and go to the nicely lit parking lot adjacent to fields 5/6/7. Wolverines at Wolverine

We are in the final two weeks before YHC moves out of Carpex and over to Raleigh and so I decided to Q as much as I could before I leave. Stop number 1 on the farewell tour was the darkest AO in all of Carpex and also an AO that YHC had only been to 2 previous times. My tiredness from just running the Tuna 200 Relay over the weekend, the darkness, my lack of familiarity with this AO, and trying to rest the legs keeping this more of a Limited Run style workout, led YHC to Q a little bit of a less organized beatdown. Escargot, my car go

I came across a news story Tuesday that the 2019 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame nominees had been announced. I don’t remember how the news came to catch my attention but catch it it did. Start with the fact that two of my favorite bands were on the list (again) and that I hadn’t even heard of a couple others and I got intrigued. An hour or so later, not only had I created a little Spotify playlist to listen to at home, but an idea for a Q was developing as well. [Read More]

Changing of the Guard

The time has come for the guard to change at Wolverine. Bogo and Pivot completed their time at the helm. They did and amazing job, continuing what Hi-Liter and Biner so graciously began two years ago. The workout and transition went something like this. Well, maybe it was a little more American. Maybe not quite that patriotic and brave. More like this. Yes, the workout today was based on the GHHS Color Guard conditioning routines which are set to music. [Read More]

We all remember our first time...

First off, let me just say how great its been dragging my sorry, out-of-shape 6 out of bed most mornings to go hang out and sweat with a bunch of crazy guys like those reading this right now. The last 3-4 months have been amazing, not only physically, but mentally, emotionally and even dare I say spiritually? (That’s weird) Seriously, thank you all for your leadership every day when I post, not just from the QIC, but also the guys that stick out their hand for a high five when they’re running by or say, “Good work!
