A Day in the Life

7 at A-Team. 18 at DTP. 25!! at Lion’s Den. A little more manageable here at Bounty Hunters, where there was a STRONG Happy Dino contingent this morning. 21 total, with 11 bootcampers and 10 runners. 0530: As the pax arrived, I shared the news to some who had not heard, about the passing of an F3 Knoxville pax, Taylor Phelps (Cardinal) during his VQ the day before. One of his planned exercises (that he didn’t get to) was the “Air Bike” (Freddy Mercury). [Read More]

Hard like Beskar

Well. It’s been a week. After a rare day off work last Friday, and having such a blast with a spelling bee at Danger Zone, I remembered how fun it is to Q. You never realize how bad you are at being a Q until you don’t do it for a long time, then try to jump back in the ring. DZ was a little different; I had a plan, and willing pax, and it was an out-and-back…what could go wrong? [Read More]

It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

And it was ushered in by perfect gloom temps of approximately 68 degrees. For the PAX who decided to wake up this morning and head to the most galactic of AOs in all of Carpex this side of Tatooine, not only were they greeted with amazing weather, they got to start their day with a beatdown of collegiate football caliber (kind of). After all, with college football kicking off today, it was only fitting (and YHC always leads at least 2 football-themed beatdowns per season to commemorate summer camp season and kickoff). Schwetty

There was a disturbing abundance of sleeves at the skate park this morning. Warm-Up Mosey over to the Town of Apex parking lot and circle up for hillbillies, daisy pickers, arm circles, copperhead merkins, copperhead squats and burpees (one for each untanked pax). The Thang Mosey over to parking lot behind the building with the stairs on the sides. 5 hand release merkins, 5 squats, 5 LBCs and trip up and down the stairs. [Read More]

Madness In The Method

By trade I’m a project manager. I always have a plan. But many times, I don’t actually finalize Q plans until minutes before the event actually starts. For the FMJ Q today, I must tip my proverbial hat to Suck Up. Unbeknownst to HIM, the plan was nearly finalized while on the playground at Kelly Road park while completing our Memorial Day Murph. In typical Suck Up fashion, he was smiling a lot and finding ways to talk trash while being super nice. [Read More]

Three Mile Minimum

Workout Date: 05/18/21 Working on my stretch goal, YHC has been making some moves on the Carpex Q sheets. I was somewhat apprehensive about blindly signing up to Q a “high tempo” workout without posting first. I’ve seen more than one AO where this label no longer applies, and others where the label is missing. I did my due diligence, verifying with Peeping Tom that Full Metal Jacket really was high tempo and posting Kryptonite the day before to get a taste of Carpex High Tempo. [Read More]

What really is hi-tempo anyway?

quckie backblast – Ma Bell hyped the site as the best, Grease Monkey back for a one-night special, & lots of talk about how FMJ has gotten too tough as of late…. so, pressure on me to make sure the PAX were moving this fine morning…. with 15 seconds to spare, we said the pledge and did a sharp mosey down to the middle school parking lot dodging 3 Apex pick-up trucks on dawn patrol for some reason…. Fellowship sprints

Today’s workout brought to you by Google & F3 Memphis. As in… “Hey Google… find me some F3 track workouts”. F3Memphis pops up with this: https://f3memphis.com/barracks-traditional-track-workout Take a little bit of this, leave a little bit of that, and modify with a dollop of CARPEx-ness and we’re ready to go. A beautiful morning out today. A sliver moon, clear skies, a few stars punching through all the parking lot lights. Just about the perfect temperature too. [Read More]

Skip to My Lou, Birthday Merkins, and Name Your Karaoke Go-To Song (because your life may depend on it)

It’s a good day when you can get 14 HIMs posting to an AO when the temps dip below 0 C. That was the case this morning, so will need to keep moving. Warm Up Following the the standard disclaimer and signing of release forms, mosey to the parking lot at the baseball field. Standard warm up consisting of SSHs, Good Mornings, Steve Earles, Sir Fazio arm circles, Grundle stretch, calf stretch, and 25 Merkins. [Read More]
