Gloomy Wolverine Means A Great Day

Several weeks ago Loom sent a DM asking if I’d like to return to my old stomping grounds at gloomy Wolverine and I happily obliged. Even better, our ShieldLock meets weekly at Wolverine so I know the landscape well. Hell, I even planned to recycle the Q workout from the Shieldlock last week. Pax started slowly rolling in: a few Travelling Circus acrobats (Clementine, PomPom, Overflow), the dynamic duo of Franklin/Badlands, the glorious return of Nature Boy (donning a full red sweatsuit with the bottoms tucked into his socks), Big Red wondering why there was another big red present, and several other HIMs for this great morning. AO: Field of Dreams Workout Date: 07/13/21 I had some workout ideas in my head when I pulled into Field of Dreams, but those plans were mostly dashed when I discovered the baseball fields and the walkways between them were locked off. I did a quick mosey to get some new ideas, entertaining some mumble chatter from Banjo as he warmed up on the playground. I really wanted to avoid Rack Em Stack Em since I’ve called it quite a bit recently, but it worked out so well on the turf soccer field at Dante’s Peak, and the soccer field at FoD was open. Who's Your Uncle?

The Back Story After fifteen hours of rain from Tropical Storm Elsa, the skies parted and left a beautiful Carpex just ready for something special – YHC’s first Q. And what an auspicious occasion it was! I knew I took a long time to finally get to this place and there were a lot of guys that encouraged, pushed, and flat-out razzed me to get here. Thank you all for that. [Read More]

Conquering the Beast

Serious storms overnight, but a gap in the rain from 530 to 7 made for a great morning to workout. For my 6th anniversary, 6x6x6 (or the Beast) seemed appropriate, but I wanted to mix it up. We made 36 stops throughout Down Town Cary, and performed series’ of 6 exercises at each (sometimes throwing in 2 exercises at the stops) If you want to know what we did (sort of), see the image. So I know some of you are woodworkers...

My 3 years of f3 celebration continue as I Q at the place I posted for the 2nd time, and my favorite Carpex AO, Bradfords Ordinary. What I remember from that post was that Disco Duck was the Q and the old lady that gave Callahan what was walking and carrying a bag of rice as he was coming off of IR a hard time. Klingon Opera

I’m sorry…what? 13 PAX descended on downtown Cary, NC, a town formerly known as Bradford’s Ordinary. Personally, “Cary” is much easier to say so I’m thankful I don’t have to say I live in Bradford’s Ordinary, North Carolina. Either way, still better than saying that I live in Apex. WARM UP Quick jog over to the Bank for: SSH Calf stretches Merkins Good mornings Squats THE THANG Mosey over to the Ol’ Parking Deck for Double 11s. [Read More]

What really is hi-tempo anyway?

quckie backblast – Ma Bell hyped the site as the best, Grease Monkey back for a one-night special, & lots of talk about how FMJ has gotten too tough as of late…. so, pressure on me to make sure the PAX were moving this fine morning…. with 15 seconds to spare, we said the pledge and did a sharp mosey down to the middle school parking lot dodging 3 Apex pick-up trucks on dawn patrol for some reason…. Workout Q is a no show so Site Q leaps into action always ready to lead the HIMs through the workout

Date: 4/15/2021 PAX: Ausfaht, Bogo, Nature Boy, Schroeder, WWW I was excited to pre-blast and highlight the workout because the original workout Q is known to create a super tough workout. Unfortunately, as 5:30 am rolls around, no workout Q. So, YHC stepped in as QIC to lead the men. We started with the Pledge Allegiance to Old Glory. Then we walked and warmed up at the same time around the pickle before the thang. [Read More]

Not Welcome Here

17 PAX gather in the brisk cool morning for a traveling Earhart workout. Good too see a mix of Apex and West Cary HIM to help YHC through a new workout in a new location. Gather the PAX at the flag for a pledge then start with walking down the path, high knees and butt kickers; with advancing age trying to start out a workout with a little warm for the warm.
