RIP Mamba...

I am not the biggest basketball fan, but I am a sports fan. The tragic passing of Kobe Bryant as well as his 13 year old daughter and the other 7 people on the helicopter that crashed transcends basketball and sports all together. I played JV basketball in 10th grade (the only year I ever played in high school) and I vividly remember that I wore Kobe’s shoes that season. [Read More]

Putting the B in Burpee, and Other B Words

I never know exactly how many PAX are boot-camping and how many are Vespering, but there were 20+ gathered at Bond Park expecting some sort of exercise routine. Warm Up A couple laps around the pickle to get the gams loose. Do the Pledge and recite the F3 Mission, circle up for SSHs, Sir Fazio forward and back, Seal claps, Steve Earles, Plank Jacks, and CFMs. The Thang Mosey down to the end of Maury O’Dell, hang a right and go to the nicely lit parking lot adjacent to fields 5/6/7. DORA Figure Eight

QIC: Gibraltar Date: 09/20/2019 After 7 years of not exercising in a disciplined way and with only one month of training with F3, Pivot told me if I would like to be a Q. Changing of the Guard

The time has come for the guard to change at Wolverine. Bogo and Pivot completed their time at the helm. They did and amazing job, continuing what Hi-Liter and Biner so graciously began two years ago. The workout and transition went something like this. Well, maybe it was a little more American. Maybe not quite that patriotic and brave. More like this. Yes, the workout today was based on the GHHS Color Guard conditioning routines which are set to music. [Read More]

Unexpected Hurdles

I’ve posted at a few other AOs, but I’ve mostly been coming out to Wolverine since I live right across the street. I’m definitely still learning the ropes and so when Pivot asked me to VQ I took the chance. I didn’t feel ready at all but I figured I’d better jump at the opportunity otherwise I’d never volunteer to do it. We had 20 PAX in attendance and there were no FNGs. [Read More]

All the hillz

19 HIM gathered at ao-wolverine for a great start to the week with some hill repeats not-so-cleverly disguised as sevens. Mosey to the Park Village Pool lot for Warm-up: - Side-straddle-hop, Calf-stretch, Calf-stretch ‘merkin, Hill Billy, Sir Fazio forward and reverse The Big Thang: Sevens on the full half-mile hill; burpees at the bottom and squats at the top. Grumbling slowed down as everyone realized just how much fun it is to start their week off right. [Read More]
