2017 was 5 years ago?

It is hard to believe that 2017 was 5 years ago but alas here we are celebrating my 5 years of doing this thing we call F3. I am still not sure why I started in January since I really do not like cold but so glad I decided to join Crimson all those years ago. A little known fact is I did not start posting regularly until early March 2017 frequently using the too cold excuse. [Read More]

Tin 2 Iron Challenge

Tuesday of this week, the HIM that had signed up to Q posted on Slack that he was on the injured reserve list. The call went out and another HIM had stepped up to Q the workout. Wednesday evening the backup Q had a 2.0 that was sick and out of precaution didn’t want to possibly spread to the PAX. The call went out for a backup to the backup. If nobody stepped up, there were discussions that it would be a cluster Q. [Read More]

Birthday Q focused on 8-Block Vision Board for 2022 Creation and Beatdown!!!

Originally created by F3 CSPAN and adopted to fit workout. The idea with the 8 Block is to IDENTIFY THE AREAS WHERE YOU NEED TO WORK ON AND WRITE THEM DOWN. This way you can refer back to it. While you are working out, pick a word for the year. This will help you focus and refer to your 8-Block periodically. Front-side: Start in the top left block: focus on you Concentrica; partner up [Read More]

Plank Destroyers and Elevator Rides

10 HIMs gathered for another Thursday workout at Hot For TaeKwonDo or Hot for Tate or Hot for Teacher (who knows the name anymore). After a stellar pre-blast from Qwerty about Principal Rooney, nostalgic movies, law enforcement, and trespassing, I knew it was going to be a great morning. YHC did some recon earlier in the week and had plenty of options for the beatdown. After realizing there were no FNGs, the F3 mission was recited as well as the pledge. [Read More]

Are we still doing this?

I know we have a newfangled method of tracking workouts with attendance and what happened on slack with PaxMate, but part of me still enjoys typing it out for posterity. Anyway, as Triple Lindy and I were discussing running plans for this morning, I remembered I had a late softball game Tuesday night. It’s cool we can just run Friday. And then our boy Happy Gilmore dropped the SNS pre-blast and I was reminded I did indeed have the Q. [Read More]

So You Say There's a Parking Deck?

There’s really no reason I’ve not been to Dazed and Confused is a few months. So when I was looking at the Q sheet early this week and noticed a gap for Friday, decided to jump in there. Almost immediately, I heard from Mama’s Boy. Apparently he was watching the Q sheet as well. I figure the excitement he was expressing was almost certainly his feeble attempt at reverse psychology. Nevertheless, I’m not taking my name off now. [Read More]

Operating Heavy Machinery

Having been thinking about having some fun at an AO for a while and decided MASH would be the ideal place to give it a shot. Had I known how many peeps we’d have, I would have recruited a second! Arrived a few minutes early. Unfortunately not early enough as I was maybe 15 seconds too late to give Pivot a good scare by blasting my horn as he ran by. [Read More]

Leg Day, All Day

It’s A Team and this is my backblast. Pledge of Allegiance then… Warm Up Mosey to the parking lot by the tennis courts. Circle up for Sir Fazio arm circles, Overhead claps, Steve Earles, and some runners/calf/hamstring/hip stretching. All the Thangs First, go to the traffic circle by the picnic area. Partner up. Partner 1 does El Capitan around the circle. Partner 2 runs around the opposite direction. Each time you meet, 10 merkins and then switch. [Read More]

Who's Your Uncle?

The Back Story After fifteen hours of rain from Tropical Storm Elsa, the skies parted and left a beautiful Carpex just ready for something special – YHC’s first Q. And what an auspicious occasion it was! I knew I took a long time to finally get to this place and there were a lot of guys that encouraged, pushed, and flat-out razzed me to get here. Thank you all for that. [Read More]

The Sincerest Form

A bunch of Apex dudes invaded South Cary looking for a beatin'. Warm-Up Mosey around t the back lot and circle up for counting off 1s and 2s. One group does AMRAP warm-up exercises while the other group runs around the balls. Watch out, they get really tight at the end. Imperial walkers, arm circles, mountain climbers and good mornings. The Thang Mosey over to The Bridge for my version of 7-11s. [Read More]
