2017 was 5 years ago?

It is hard to believe that 2017 was 5 years ago but alas here we are celebrating my 5 years of doing this thing we call F3. I am still not sure why I started in January since I really do not like cold but so glad I decided to join Crimson all those years ago. A little known fact is I did not start posting regularly until early March 2017 frequently using the too cold excuse. [Read More]

The Non Convergence Experience

Seeing the Q slot open a few weeks earlier and realizing I was still in need of said AO Q slot for the “box checking”, I eagerly entered my name onto the Q-Sheet. As the days passed, I then realized that the day in question was good ole Thanksgiving. Reaching out to Site-Qs.. the decision was made to stay open giving the PAX another option. With that said – and after a brief EC and no FNG’s in sight, we started with The Pledge… and [Read More]

Student Becomes the Teacher (or is it the other way around???)

Q School 101 at Lion’s Den - a site YHC and The Most Sour of all Mashes started just a few years ago. Starts off great, give the disclaimer, no FNGs, and explain that we’re doing the Pledge but it is not a required element of a proper Q. Warm Up Mosey to the entrance to the church, and explain why it is important to understand the layout and features of a site you are Q’ing. [Read More]

A Great Twinkie Joke

If there ever was a joke about Twinkies…it would never get old. My VQ was last Friday, and a good time was had. Warm Up Good morning (it was!), Sir Fazio front and back, Seal Claps, Michael Phelps OYO, and Runner and Calf stretches. Mozy-ied over to the driveway next to the parking garage. Tortoise Pendulum

Workout Date: 04/28/21 YHC needed to hop back on the Q train to get my momentum back. Tortoises was the second workout I was able to find on the Carpex Q sheet for this week. At Hell’s Bells on Monday, I had heard about the pull up bars on site and hoped I could work them in somehow. Warm Up: Give the mission statement, check for FNGs, give the disclaimer, and warm up: [Read More]

Double Duty

51 is a lot different than 50 was last year. Just the situation - we are now back to getting after it in groups in the gloom. On April 15, 2020, we’d officially shut down group workouts. But one thing I wanted to keep the same. Do a Murph on my birthday. The day started with a run into Bounty Hunters, which depending on the route I choose is right about 3 miles. [Read More]

A-Team GBBs!

Super excited to Q at A-Team this morning – it’s one of my favorite sites and is always loaded with High Impact Men. Speaking of HIM, @petsounds was there! So great to see him back in the gloom! Bootcamp-wise, I felt like trying something new – here’s what went down…. 15 total pax, 9 bootcampers, the remainers bruising/walking + 4 legged Manny! Pledge of course! Then mosey straight into the park to the top of the powerline hill for warm-up: good morning, windmill, hill-billy, mtn climbers, merkins, etc. [Read More]

Moving on to Plan E

Have I told you how sick I am of cold, rainy weather? Luckily today we were expecting highs to get into the 60s. With sunshine. WITH SUNSHINE!!! However this morning, it was still 30s and the ground was wet from rain we’ve had in the past 1,231 hours. Six for EC run of about 3 miles. Return to the flag, and I initially thought I was in the wrong place. Maybe I should post at DTP a little more often - apparently it’s now the place to be in Downtown Apex on Tuesdays at 0530. Rain? What rain?

Even though YHC and the shield lock had already done a couple miles EC run and were fully soaked, it seemed like a waste not to use the parking garage the AO provides for some cover from the elements. So that’s where we headed. Here’s what all went down: Warmup: No FNGs so I stumbled through the mission statement because it was being recorded for our Q of Culture and then recited the pledge before heading off to the parking garage on the other side of the school.
