2022 May the 4th Be With You CARPEX Challenge

(This Backblast is long….) Pre-Thang A Long Time Ago in a Galaxy Far Away…. May the 4th Be With You CARPEX Challenge It is chaotic times in galaxy. The Empire as fallen. The New Republic is moving fast to gain control of former Imperial facilities. Mon Mothma has charged the New Republic Eclipse Team travel to the planet Wayland, located in the Inner Rim, to lock down a former Imperial Research Facility. [Read More]

Decades Day 3: FOD 60's

YHC’s anniversary tour continues at Field of Dreams. Theme today is ‘60’s. Fantastic playlist in queue plus this is usually a well-attended AO, so especially excited for this one and arrived 30 min early to reacquaint myself to the site. Overflow had his earbuds in expecting a solo EC - he ended up joining YHC along with Sunshine and PBX for a couple miles - great mumblechatter as to be expected with 75% Steves. [Read More]

Stuff happened

It’s Revolution time in CARPEx and about 30 dudes were running the Maynard. YHC came out for Insomnia and … ran it solo despite the parking lot being full of cars. Plus it was really cold. So I didn’t expect many guys to show up. But show up they did. In droves. All within 30 seconds of go time. 30 seconds later we were off. Only one goal today: keep everyone warm. [Read More]

Escalating

Warm-Up Mosey over to the Community Center parking lot and circle up for 22 side straddle hops and others. Callahan showed up late and salty so a few burpees thrown in. The Thang Mosey down the hill to the bottom lot and partner up. One runs the pickle, the other alternates step-ups and dips. After a few rounds switch from dips to derkins. Escalating merkins up the hill. Run to first light pole, 1 merkin, run back. [Read More]

BaROCK OB.O.M.B.S.a

OK, this workout had nothing to do with our former President. But it involved B.O.M.B.S with rocks so there you have it. YHC thinks the title is clever. You will come to love it as well. Anyway, even after YHC got a little anxious and stepped in the site Q’s lane by pre-blasting my Q, 20 HIM showed up, including an FNG who had no idea what he was getting himself into. [Read More]

Slow and Low, That is the Tem-po

AO: M.A.S.H. Workout Date: 06/18/21 I’ve spent way too much time trying to find some M.A.S.H.-related themes for this backblast, and sorry, boys, it ain’t happening. This is my fourth Q of the week, and M.A.S.H.’s late start (on a Friday!) was right up my alley this morning. I set my alarm for thirty minutes later and still moved it another thirty minutes when I woke in the middle of the night. [Read More]

Something about a blossom

We ended today’s COT with Pivot saying something profound about a blossom. But I can’t for the life of me remember what it was. It was something like “even if you can’t flower, you can smell the blossom”. I know that’s not it but it was something like that. Or maybe it wasn’t. But it definitely had the word “blossom” in the quote. Probably. Today’s Measure Twice was something like a Measure Thrice. [Read More]

So I know some of you are woodworkers...

My 3 years of f3 celebration continue as I Q at the place I posted for the 2nd time, and my favorite Carpex AO, Bradfords Ordinary. What I remember from that post was that Disco Duck was the Q and the old lady that gave Callahan what was walking and carrying a bag of rice as he was coming off of IR a hard time.
