3 (Years) Is The Magic Number

Realizing that 2021 was coming to an end pretty quickly and knowing that my anniversary of joining F3 was in January, I grabbed the Q slot back in late Oct to celebrate it as best I can. Little did I know how important this Q would be… A quick disclaimer was made and with no fngs in attendnace, we started with the pledge. Then we mozied towards the parking lot up the road. Back of the bus

Q-school time fellas. Showed up early enough to get the bricks out of the back. But not so early as to have to do it alone. Thanks Schroeder for the help. Having sat through Ma’s Q-school @ FOD earlier in the week, knew the focus today was going to be on putting things into practice. A group of eight for the main event - with a fly-through from HK - made it all just about perfect. [Read More]

Be sure and log out

Sometimes things just fall neatly into place, and this weekend as I saw posts from F3 Grand Strand about their brother HIghtower, I hopped over to the Q sheet and marveled at my good fortune that Claymore was open. Load up the hatchback with some goodies and away we go. One year ago this weekend, PFC Jacob Hancher of the Myrtle Beach PD was killed in the line of duty. He was known to his F3 Grand Strand brothers as Hightower: [Read More]

Claymore 9/21/21: Shuffle up and squeal

Ten brave PAX found their way to the constructioniest site in central Cary on a beautiful Tuesday morning, hoping for a dose of pain. The Deck of Death was there to deliver. Pre-event mumblechatter was relocated to the first base side in hopes of avoiding any Karen-related altercations. Short warm-up: SSH, MC, Merkins, and some BartmArmORama. Mosey to the rock pile and grab an ego rock. Foie Gras, VHS, and Kinky Boots were briefed on the Deck of Death: [Read More]

SNS 9/22/21: We Need To Talk

Believe or not, I had a plan for today. At 0545, nine men headed off for bootcamp. WARM UP Jog to the lower lot and circle up for: SSH Merkins Good Mornings Abe Vigodas Squats Fazios THE THANG YHC had everyone get a partner, then I explained the premise. We would run laps around the large lot in pairs, however I would be guiding the conversation. In between each set of laps, 10 Merkins, 20 Squats, 30 LBCs as a group. [Read More]

OG Bootcamp

With all the training for the BRR, I need more bootcamp in my life. The pythons are looking a little sickly (not in the good millenial phrasing way) and I may be a little loose in the cage. This week has been all about more balanced workout - and less miles. So when the chance to Q arguably the greatest AO location in all of Carpex popped up, I jumped all over it and decided to deliver an OG style bootcamp. [Read More]

This was a tough day for sure. I’ll keep it limited an amplify the few things that are truly relevant: I’m thankful for Burt and his perpetual support of the PAX. Seeing that flag and the beer made my day. I’m thankful for Riptide. He was up early to let me know and not leave me hanging there. Great to see Foie Gras back after a devastating week. Here for you, man. [Read More]

Front Toward Enemy

AO: Claymore Workout Date: 08/10/21 I scoped out the park on the internet, but arrived too late to scout. With only a couple of minutes to spare, I peppered site Q Skipper with multiple AO-related questions. Hopefully this did not worry him too much. Warm Up: State the mission, check for FNGs(0), and give the disclaimer. Side Straddle Hops x20 In Cadence (IC) Good Mornings x5 IC Sir Fazio Arm Circles forward x10 IC [Read More]

Another Yank safely contained

Last Saturday, YHC moved from Chatham county closer to the center of the Carpex universe, going from 0 AOs* within an EC-able 3-mile radius to approximately half of all the AOs in Carpex (or as HK calls it, the Nation). What better way to move in, meet new Pax, and ensure that YHC wakes up and works out each day instead of sleeping in on a week off than to Q every day at a Cary AO? [Read More]

A Tour of Downtown Cary

It was a lovely, cool, sunny morning in the heart of Cary. So cool that HGTV flirted with the idea of long sleeves…on tank top Thursday. The cheek! A stern look from Burt brought him to heel. Burt’s briefcase of tanks was almost not needed, but alas, a rucker and a Raleigh guy needed the dressing room. The Q was delayed 30 seconds as Boucher put on a fashion show. YHC mumbled something about “This is F3, don’t get hurt” and we did the Pledge of Allegiance.
