Winky Rewind

A strong group of strong men gathered in the gloom this morning at Bond Park. The morning drizzle was gloomy and glorious. It was a good thing the Q brought his winky, because his memory isn’t very good anymore. And it was a good thing the winky was laminated so it would stay dry. The size of the winky was spot on, even when folded in half. - mosey to hill by pavilion and planted flag [Read More]

7 is the number

9 HIMs converged at Downtown Cary flag poles near the Cary PD looking for some good fellowship beatdown. The bell tolled 18:00 hrs. No FNGs. We cited the mission, 5 core principles, and credo. We pledged our allegiance to Old Glory and off we went in the direction of the parking deck. Runner hit the stairs to the top and mosey down to level 1. Walkers walk to lower deck (no stairs). Stuff happened

It’s Revolution time in CARPEx and about 30 dudes were running the Maynard. YHC came out for Insomnia and … ran it solo despite the parking lot being full of cars. Plus it was really cold. So I didn’t expect many guys to show up. But show up they did. In droves. All within 30 seconds of go time. 30 seconds later we were off. Only one goal today: keep everyone warm. [Read More]

Milk Man

Websters: milk·man/ˈmilkmən,ˈmilkˌman/Learn to pronouncenoun a person who delivers and sells milk. Urban Dictionary: milkman A person that handles/pleases the wifey/girlfriend, when the husband or boyfriend is away. That baby doesnt look anything like you. Better ask the wife about the milkman. I’ll give you one guess as to how we ended up with FNG Milk Man on Friday @ DZ. I honestly don’t remember what all we did. At all. I know I wanted to use the sand volleyball courts but there was a group up there already. [Read More]

Shaken by Shakin'

AO: Shaken Not Stirred Workout Date: 07/07/21 I’ve always been confused by the spelling of Shakin Not Stirred on the f3carpex.com schedule. Obviously some type of 007 reference for the (James) Bond Park AO. As I tweeted out the night before, I could only think Shakin was an obscure reference to the classic Eddie Money song. You are correct, that does not make sense. I’ve posted Bond Park workouts a few times, but never at the anchor boot camp of Carpex’s former weekly convergence. [Read More]

¡Three FNGos!

AO: Phoenix Workout Date: 06/12/21 YHC has posted Phoenix (or maybe it was Werewolf), but it has obviously been a while. The starting parking lot was a lot smaller than I remembered and there were a large number of PAX, including three FNGs. Time to start modifying the plan. Warm Up: State the mission, check for FNGs (3), and give the disclaimer Side Straddle Hop x20 In Cadence (IC) Good Morning x5 IC [Read More]

We didn't start the fire...

…it was always burning, since the world’s been turning. It’s been 49 weeks since I last “officially” posted at an AO, March 20th 2020, with @Franklin at the helm at Gran Torino. Since that time, it’s been a helluva ride: Well, Covid, Black Lives Matter became a movement instead of just good damn common decency as humans Kim Jong Un died. Then didn’t Kanye West ran for president. Really, that happened. a cardinal workout

A Day Late, but here we are! 10 Phoenicians showed up in the 30° chill to do some work on a Saturday. Here’s what we did: Pledge with the 2 Bruisers, and then follow me! Around the home pickle and out the North Side to Maury O’Dell, grab the path to the Community Center lot, back through to Metro Park Dr and hang a right to convene at Warmup Intersection for 8CGM, SSH, SM/PJ/SM, IW.
