Variety is the Spice of Life

4 (3 runners and a rucker) showed up at BO for the #meowmile. We picked up 3 more at the halfway point where Hello Kitty subjected us all to HIS 55 fantasy football penalty merkins on the way back. Wait, did I just type that? Merkins are a bonus, a pleasure, a treasure, dare I say a gift from God. After the completion of the #meowmile, we gathered up at the flag for the traditional “swapping of the shirts” for #TTT [Read More]

More Burpees Than Planned

PAX: 19 (FNG Lite-Brite) Excited to hit up some BO this morning. YHC has been on the low low when it comes to Q-ing so I’m happy to get back in the game. With all of the new AOs the opportunity to lead a workout can only increase! So just as my Twitter #PB announced I arrived at 0530 for some #TTT. Stretched for quite a bit before the next cars mosey’d onto the lot. [Read More]

Over Hill and Dale in Downtown Cary

So a few weeks ago I was complaining giving constructive criticism about an Indian Run we were in the middle of when Term Paper said, “Guess what, VQ week is right around the corner and you can plan an even better workout.” Dazed and confused, YHC finds himself in the gloom, in front of FUMC, Q’ing the Bradford’s Ordinary. A huge THANK YOU for the yoga mats that appeared! At long last, my wail of anguish has been answered and I have a place to lay my weary countenance! [Read More]

360

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lldD6SVbBQc Yep, just got back from Colorado, as my team qualified to compete in the USA Ultimate Frisbee National Championships. My team hadn’t lost a game since 2014; an unparalleled feat, which resulted in two world championships and one national championship. So when we lost in the quarterfinals by one point, we were certainly disappointed. We ended up 5th in the nation, so not too shabby, but we already were planning our return to greatness, which is exactly 360 days from today. [Read More]

Swimming laps

YHC had it all planned out. Looked months in advance (well, maybe weeks) to find THE Monday that would mark my 2nd F3versary. Hotspot’s big suicide was my first introduction to an F3 workout. It didn’t kill me, but it was pretty close. Then, I realized, oh crud I have a weeklong project at work that starts THE SAME DAY that I had signed up to Q. Frantic, hurried inquiries with Hotspot and McCants to see if we could swap up the order. [Read More]

BO's Young Guns Exploring the Fountain

An unlucky 13 of F3 Carpex’s (mostly) young bucks today in downtown Cary. A lot of young guys out at BO today. Millennials must be responding to Riptide’s Snapagrams or Instachats or whatever he’s doing to promote the AO. YHC had been eyeing the new Downtown Cary Park and fountain as a workout spot for a while and it didn’t disappoint. First, ran to the library plaza for a standard F3 Carpex warmup. [Read More]

And then the rain cleared...

With a forecast of rain and flashfloods, PAX of 15 posted outside the closed park gate. Unfortunate for the FNG that showed a few minutes late, but couldn’t find us until halftime of our workout… Warm-Up With the rain miraculously holding off the PAX began a light jog into the park stopping at the speed bump for the 6 to complete 20 SSH, then jogged the rest of the way in to circle up for some Merkins, Mountain Climbers and Good Mornings.
