In a Galaxy Far Far Away...

It sure felt like that on the trek to Apex for this morning’s romp. I forget the disclaimer and pledge. I guess I was distraught about not being able to go to toshi station to pick up some power converters. Stupid uncle Owen. 29 of us moseyed to the parking lot for warm-ups Han Solo Hops Princess Leia Lunges Chewbacca Merkins (on my grunt) Obi Squat Kenobis Imperial Walkers Leia secured the Death Star plans and was subsequently chased by Darth Vader. Stretch Armstrong

Date: 5/6/2019, AO: Wolverine QIC: Parker 18 gathered in the beautiful Wolverine gloom, officially the gloomiest AO in all of Carpex. No FNGs, YHC really butchered the disclaimer this morning, and was hoping the beatdown would only get better from there. Pledge, and off we go. Warm up: 1/2 mile mosey to the parking lot near the basketball court at Davis Dr. Middle. Circle up for 20 SSH, calf stretch left x 10 count, 10 merkins IC, calf stretch right x 10 count, 15 merkins IC. Wild Card

It was a special morning at Danger Zone for YHC, with my long-time good buddy Hacksaw coming over from Raleigh to co-Q. Warm-Up Start with a lap around the pickle (including the stem at the entrance) then circle up on the basketball court for good mornings, windmills and imperial walkers. With the PAX properly warmed up Hacksaw tells them he knew YHC before I was known as Disco Duck, he knew me when it was Wild Bill Deese. [Read More]

A trip to the zoo brought to you by the numbers 7 and 14

Nice warmer weather again this morning brought out 13 of Carpex’s finest to the premier skate park in SW Wake County. YHC tried to solicit some requests for the workout today - didn’t get much but decided to work in what I could 530 - time to start - a few still messing around at a truck trying to find a pair of gloves - so the rest of us went over there and did 1 burpee OYO to start. All aboard the Middle School Bus

A brisk cool morning greeted the kids waiting for the bus this morning on their way to Salem Middle School. The gathered in the parking lot and waited patiently for 5:30. Apparently, the bus driver (who was their early) wanted to protest the start time so we didn’t get moving until 5:31. Largemouth wondered if he was going to make everyone stand around until 5:45. While it seemed like a good idea…. 7's and Laps

YHC’s second Q this week started with a solo EC Run on some poorly lit, no sidewalk-having roads. It reminded me a bit of the BRR…..dark…quiet….not another soul in sight. Wait, did I miss a turn? I must admit, despite the warnings from others that there’s no good EC option at FMJ, I only saw two cars on this run, and they were easily avoided. A brisk 4 miles and back in time to check out the new playground equipment, though we weren’t going to use it today…. I Did It All for the Koozie

They say good things come to those who wait. Who are they? The PAX? The Q? 24 gathered to find out for a VQ that was a long time coming. YHC awoke at 0420 for a 0530 VQ approx 4 minutes away. Alrighty then. Arrived early to off load the pain sticks and found FNG Daniel alone in the parking lot with his car and an empty black BMW. PAX piled in the small lot, disclaimer was given, and off we went. [Read More]

Milk Run

33 Pax gathered to celebrate YHC’s 35th birthday… well actually, they gathered to watch what would happen when Frisco drank a half gallon of milk prior to the beatdown. Banjo joined Frisco in the lactose challenge. Surprisingly, they were able to keep it all down during the workout. Pickles and Parker got in some EC merkins and several pax got in an EC fellowship run with Half. Once the new start time of 0530 rolled around, we were off! [Read More]

Birthday B.O.M.B.S

I"m always leery of the use of the aforementioned especially when on a public school campus in light of where we are as a society. In the case of today, the subject gave reason for concern for all within the immediate proximity but not need to worry about one’s personal safety. Disclaimer, Pledge of Allegiance Warmup The magic number of the day is 42 and we did so for Side Straddle Hop, Mountain Climber, Cotton Picker, Crunch Frog and Merkins. [Read More]
