Lets see what sticks...

YHC had not Q’d since we sent the guys to Peru so I was long overdue. A cool and clear spring morning brought strong numbers out to Salem Elementary. EC guys rolled in with a minute to spare and after a piecemeal disclaimer we began. Warm Up Good Mornings Windmills Sixty Second Arm Circles (Check out the exicon, I think I did them justice but confusion ensued!) Sprinkler (Another exicon gem, looked more like a Heisman pose or awkward prom dance move) [Read More]

I Did It All For The Q-zie

16 PAX fought off the post-Murph fartsack at Full Metal Jacket this morning, greeted by warm air and a beautiful sunrise. YHC pulled into the lot right at 0529 and promptly gave the “one minute” warning. My mind swam as I tried to figure out what to do next. You see, the night before, I learned I was Q-ing via slack. This isn’t the first time this has happened (and certainly won’t be the last), but as I looked around the PAX, I noticed a few unfamiliar faces and I didn’t want to disappoint. [Read More]

Beautiful Morn

Amazingly fresh & a bit brisk this morning at FMJ! Nice size group of 11 – we got to know each other a bit better, got some sweat going, & had some fun! Here’s what happened in brief: Warm-up -- on the mosey around the soccer field/pond we made several stops along the way for good mornings, windmills, calf stretch merkins, burpees, SSH, hill billies, imperial walkers, etc. Thang 1: Aussie pull-ups on the even numbers 20 on down. Burtflop

Well, Ultimate Frisbee season started up, so posting to Carpex workouts has been limited by soreness and/or injuries. I haven’t posted in about 3 weeks, so I was pumped to take the Q at DangerZone this morning. Of course I was expecting to be greeted to a heroes welcome, or strut into the AO while a boombox is blasting the Welcome Back Kotter’s theme song. Nope, none of those happened. Instead the night before, Sabre is skeaning me for not having some sort of a Pre-Blast, Peeerogi is questioning my mobility to Q, and CK is DM’ing me constantly…with his only interest of bequeathing me with his old bicycle inner-tubes with advice to utilize said inner-tubes during the Q for resistance running “in case you can’t think of any exercises to do”. 21 for 22's

Warm-Up Mosey out of the park and safely across Cary Parkway to the office park and circle up for imperial walkers, Sir Fazios forward and reverse. Notice Red Ryder’s smiling face as he sneaks into the circle, ask the site Q’s what time we start, confirm my suspicion that he’s late, reward his tardiness with ten burpees OMD (#noOYObro). Close out the warm-up with good mornings and criticism of my cadence. [Read More]

Gloomiest Cinder Blocks!

(CMU’s - Apparently) 19 Met at the Gloomiest AO in all Cary this morning (1/7/19) for a workout, and they were not disappointed. Snots, Ollie and YHC met at 0445 for some extra credit intervals and worked different paces over at the Davis Drive Middle School track. The intervals are always tough, yet rewarding and today was no different. As the pax were arriving in to parking lot, whoa, wait, who’s that? [Read More]
